We have our car back!

Were back.
After walking a few blocks to catch a bus to ride into downtown, we walked another six blocks or so, stopped at a Dunkin Donuts and got donuts, then walked ANOTHER block to a bus stop, got on THAT bus, and got down to the Pittsburgh impound area.
We have our car. At first, Daniel couldnt get it started, because the ignition is gone. They ripped it out completely in order to start the car with a screwdriver. But we got a tow truck driver to show us how to start it (in exchange for $10 :irked: ), so, off we went, after forking over $50. Ugh. I cannot believe I have to pay $50 because my car was stolen. Fucking laws and stupid system. :die:
Anyway, the damage? The steering column is actually fine. They just ripped out the ignition, so until we get another one put in, the car has to be started up with a screwdriver. The radio/cd player is gone (somehow Im not surprised). The cheap speakers that were up in the back are gone, but honestly I dont care about those. The backseat was partially ripped out from the back/side so the thief/thieves could get into the trunk to see what was there. They took our tire iron  and our battery pack (which was actually worth something). They also stole my entire CD binder. Im a little upset about that, because not only were there over 50 CDs in there, but the CD Daniel made me for our one year anniversary was in there too. :bawling: The weird thing is, they left Daniels CD binder, and my mini binder. I think they left the mini binder because all the CDs in there were burned, and I suppose they didnt want burned, only originals. The funny part about it all is the binder they took contains a lot of stuff like BSB, NYSNC, Savage Garden, BBMak, Ricky Martin, etc. I bet they were a bit disappointed with the selection. Meanwhile, the binder they didnt take has stuff like Metallica, Fuel, 3 Doors Down, etc. What really has me pissed though, and I know this is trivial compared to the damage that was done, but still… they took my nail prisms nail polish!!! Ugh. I paid $3.48 (it was on clearance; normally this stuff is $5.99) for it, and I love it. Damn, damn, damn. What the fuck would they want the nail polish for??? :whimper:
Lastly, the window they broke was one of the back ones… the two back side windows have little triangular shaped windows behind them. Well, they broke the one on the drivers side. Thank god they didnt break one of the regular windows. That would have been really upsetting, and much more expensive to fix.
So, Daniel and I got the car, took it to a gas station, left it running since we didnt have a screwdriver in the car to turn it off with, and vacuumed out the interior (there was still glass everywhere). Then we came home, and while I used windex to clean off all the windows (they were coated in old slush/snow/road salt and of course, general filth), Daniel went and bought a bunch of duct tape, and when he came back we taped a thick piece of carboard up in the busted window.
:sighb:
Im glad we have our car back… I even cried from relief on the way home…

I will never understand why people feel as if they have the right to steal other peoples belongings. That just makes me sooo mad.. and its not fair that you had to pay 50 bucks to get the car out…

Oh! >:( How disgusting! You know when my car was broken into, they took my CD player with my burnt CD inside. I almost DIED of relief cause they didnt take my original Aaron Kwok CD. The store is out of stock and I probably cant get another one… But it sucks that they took the CD player and the headphones too. But I guess thats no way near as bad as what happened to you. Gee, those theives will die a painful death…. :P

To be fair though, they DID find it and tow it back to the impound so nothing else would happen to it.
