There is a God!

I am so tired that I’m sitting here in a freaking daze. It’s a miracle I can see the screen/keyboard. I’m at my mom’s because my dad came up from Philly yesterday evening via train, and he stayed here for the night, and my mom wanted Alyssa and I to stay as well.

Daniel and I went to his aunt Cindy’s house. They had Thanksgiving dinner already (who the fuck eats dinner at 3:00pm?! :beady:), so we just had dessert. Cindy gave us baby gifts she got: two big packs of diapers (one of the best kinds of baby gifts, in my opinion, since that’s one thing you won’t be returning and will be using! :haha:) and a cute and cuddly stuffed bear that plays three different lullabies.
The only thing that upset me about that visit was that when Daniel’s grandmother was holding Alyssa upright against her shoulder, she didn’t put her hand behind Alyssa’s head, and Alyssa bobbed around and her head fell back. Ooh, I was ready to lunge across that table and rip her fucking throat out! However, I managed to restrain myself and said, rather tensely, “Can you please make sure you’re supporting her head?” She got all huffy and said, “I’ve had six babies.” Good for you, but being a damn brood mare doesn’t make you a mother. *kill kill kill*

I am so fucking tired. Tuesday night: 4 hours of sleep. Wednesday night: 1.5 hours of sleep. Thursday night: 5 hours of broken sleep (my brother Amr is sick with a stomach bug, so I was up at various times throughout the night to console him and clean him up after he got sick). BUT, only another 12 or so hours to drag through, and then I’m going home… without Alyssa. My mom is going to keep her tonight so that I can catch up on my sleep. It may be too late though in regards to being sick, because I am really miserable. :feverish:

Considering that as a result of Alyssa crying I have two huge wet spots on the front of my shirt, and milk dripping onto my thighs, I think I can safely assume that my milk supply is finally back. ;)

Did everyone enjoy some :turkey: turkey?

Ashley, on November 11 2004 at 11:06am:

We always eat at about 2 or 3 for holiday meals. ;-)

Lauren, on November 11 2004 at 12:11pm:

yeah i usually eat in the late afternoon for holiday get togethers. ;) it’s all good though, you need to get some sleep.. no sleep is awful. :(

Arianna, on November 11 2004 at 12:33pm:

Dinner at 3:00PM isn’t too weird for me. I’m Italian and every Suday we eat at 2PM. Not on Thanksgiving though.

I can’t believe the grandmother didn’t support Alyssa’s head!! The nerve she had to talk back to you!! :blah:

Hope your holiday was good!

Liza, on November 11 2004 at 1:58pm:

well, i hope you get your rest, i only usualy have 2-4 hrs sleep, because my eyes are glued to my computer screen, and my kitten. Well, i just keep waiting for that domain to register….lol…..happy holidays, cause mine sucked.

AeroGem, on November 11 2004 at 2:06pm:

Glad you managed to survive! Take care

nicole, on November 11 2004 at 2:07pm:

awww I’m glad you’ll be able to finally get some decent sleep! And man, I woulda snatched my baby girl right back from that nasty old lady if she’d done that to my precious darling! Poor Alyssa! I bet in her head she was going “You stupid cow, gimme back to my mummy!”

You’re such a good sissy to your little brothers, no wonder they love you so much!

Laura, on November 11 2004 at 2:15pm:

Umm… actually, my family always does Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter dinner around 3 or 4pm. I don’t think it’s that unusual. ;)

I’m sorry you’re not feeling well and haven’t had much sleep. I hope you’re able to catch up on some of it!! *hugs*

Charlemange, on November 11 2004 at 2:15pm:

We had dinner early yesturday and it’s a good thing because the electricity went out in the afternoon :headache:

Tact is so over rated. I would have said that whole brood mare stuff out out then I would be banned from having to visit the hag again. It’s a win-win!

Arianna is right, it’s an Italian tradtion to have 2pm suppers on Sunday. My family never did that though. Not sure why. Maybe because they suck! :blah:

Jenna, on November 11 2004 at 2:38pm:

Ha, my family always has dinner early on thanksgiving and christmas. We normally eat between 1:00pm and 2:00pm. After that if we are hungry we snack on leftovers…mmm.

Kanu, on November 11 2004 at 3:13pm:

Hey Jennifer! I just wanted to let you know that I found this girl who is redistributing smilies from many sites including yours and mine..she is linking back some (though the readme file clearly say you may not redistribute them in any condition)…she has not even linkied yours and mine site, your smilies are included in those white smilies set…just letting you know…

Amanda, on November 11 2004 at 3:25pm:

We always eat xmas, easter, and thanksgiving dinners anywhere from 2-3 pm. (shrug) I think it’s because no one eats anything beforehand and then we just sleep the evening away :-P

Caitlin, on November 11 2004 at 3:30pm:

I’m glad you’re getting caught up on sleep. We ate our Thanksgiving dinner at 2. 2 sharp. Everything has to be on a schedule. *grr* Just wondering if you’ve gotten my check yet. I sent it out Monday morning. I know it might not have gotten there yet since yesterday was a holiday.

Nicole, on November 11 2004 at 4:01pm:

The only thing good for me on thnksgiving was the food… most of my family were being jack asses but I did enjoy the food!
I hope you get to feeling better and get some sleep!!!

Aimee, on November 11 2004 at 4:10pm:

Aw feel better soon

Janet, on November 11 2004 at 4:27pm:

I’m sorry about Daniel’s grandmother. I’ve never even had a kid and I know you have to support the head. You would think someone who’d had so many kids would know that, but I know that that’s not necessarily true.

I’m sorry that you’re sick. I hope you get to feeling better.

Krissy, on November 11 2004 at 5:00pm:

I would have beaten the shit out of that lady! :ugh:

cortni, on November 11 2004 at 9:15pm:

We ate at 12pm. Then I couldnt eat anything until 1pm the Next day!

sarah, on November 11 2004 at 9:36pm:

Ahh see I couldn’t put up with that stuff when very rarely I let people hold Daniel as an infant. I most likely would have said “I did not ask how many children you have birthed, I was reminding you to properly support MY DAUGHTER’S head and neck.”

Chrissy, on November 11 2004 at 11:42pm:

*raises hand meekly* We always eat Thanksgiving dinner around 3-ish.

babz, on November 11 2004 at 6:32am:

We starting eating dinner at 2:30 and ate off and on until about 7pm Talk about being tired and feeling miserable afterwards :yuck:

Michelle, on November 11 2004 at 11:44am:

I’m sorry that you’re sick. I hope you feel better really soon!

We ate dinner at 1PM, only because my mom had to work. We usually eat at 2:30ish.

Echo, on November 11 2004 at 2:41pm:

We often eat dinner early on holidays : P Even as early as 3 because we make so much food and intend to eat again later (mmm) : P We don’t get family together much, so when we do we make a big deal out of it and graze together.

Shadow, on November 11 2004 at 7:34pm:

We always eat early.. Ususally around 3 or 4, esp. for hollidays. So I don’t know why you had to say it like that(who the fuck eats at 3pm?) because there is more than one way.

Hope you feel better, and get some sleep.

  • Grysh : Dropped <3
  • Leslie : I'm still seeing that system font. So weird! Maybe it's just me? lol
  • Stephanie : Georgia looks a million times better :)
  • Jenn : Also? Yay for my car!
  • Jenn : Yay for Saturdays!
  • Jenn : I am the owner and I do visit, when I have the time. :)
  • Cole : much better!
  • Guest_1143 : you're the owner of lavish right? do you visit the board? i like it but it's kinda dead.
  • Guest_3574 : Hey - I don't see Georgia font. Still the weird system font.
  • Tara : I like Georgia :)
  • Jenn : I changed the font to Georgia -- feedback? Also, the sidebar issue has been fixed!
  • Jenn : Thanks for the feedback guys. I changed the font, and I'm going to be checking into the sidebar issue on the Q&A page now.
  • Guest_3678 : your new layout is so difficult to read!
  • Cole : also, your second sidebar is broken on the Q&A page, just fyi
  • Cole : Um, did that even work?!
  • Cole : I agree with the comments about the font. I had to copy and paste some of the text into another window just to read it
  • itizhn : ZubqiCPLZysbOuLY Skz
  • Tara : I agree with Stephanie. I think it might be a mistake.
  • Alice : I like the new layout. :3
  • Stephanie : Did you mean to have Desdemona be your default font? It is god-awful to read. The entire layout looks great, but this font is not designed to be used as a body font.
  • Guest_3574 : The font is really odd. Really hard to read. Rest looks awesome!
  • Guest_2909 : LOVE the colors of the new theme ♥
  • Amy : Holy CRAP! I haven't seen a tagboard in years, lol. I love the new layout, but I have to agree on the font. I feel it's a little small.
  • Guest_957 : Terrible font, otherwise great layout.
  • Gina : I love the layout! But I'm having a horrible time trying to read the text. Maybe it's just me :(

Jenn As the domain name suggests, my name is Jenn, and I own this blog. I'm 26 years old and married to my one true ♥, Daniel. And while I have two kids (Alyssa is five, and Ryan is three), you won't find "mommy" in my username or email address, nor does my blog revolve around them. I'm a mother, but most importantly I am me, with a passion for love, blogging, reading, and photography. I'm also a busy freelance writer, web designer & SEO goddess, and a blogger relations person for an adult toy company.
