There is a God!

I am so tired that I’m sitting here in a freaking daze. It’s a miracle I can see the screen/keyboard. I’m at my mom’s because my dad came up from Philly yesterday evening via train, and he stayed here for the night, and my mom wanted Alyssa and I to stay as well.

Daniel and I went to his aunt Cindy’s house. They had Thanksgiving dinner already (who the fuck eats dinner at 3:00pm?! :beady:), so we just had dessert. Cindy gave us baby gifts she got: two big packs of diapers (one of the best kinds of baby gifts, in my opinion, since that’s one thing you won’t be returning and will be using! :haha:) and a cute and cuddly stuffed bear that plays three different lullabies.
The only thing that upset me about that visit was that when Daniel’s grandmother was holding Alyssa upright against her shoulder, she didn’t put her hand behind Alyssa’s head, and Alyssa bobbed around and her head fell back. Ooh, I was ready to lunge across that table and rip her fucking throat out! However, I managed to restrain myself and said, rather tensely, “Can you please make sure you’re supporting her head?” She got all huffy and said, “I’ve had six babies.” Good for you, but being a damn brood mare doesn’t make you a mother. *kill kill kill*

I am so fucking tired. Tuesday night: 4 hours of sleep. Wednesday night: 1.5 hours of sleep. Thursday night: 5 hours of broken sleep (my brother Amr is sick with a stomach bug, so I was up at various times throughout the night to console him and clean him up after he got sick). BUT, only another 12 or so hours to drag through, and then I’m going home… without Alyssa. My mom is going to keep her tonight so that I can catch up on my sleep. It may be too late though in regards to being sick, because I am really miserable. :feverish:

Considering that as a result of Alyssa crying I have two huge wet spots on the front of my shirt, and milk dripping onto my thighs, I think I can safely assume that my milk supply is finally back. ;)

Did everyone enjoy some :turkey: turkey?

Dinner at 3:00PM isn’t too weird for me. I’m Italian and every Suday we eat at 2PM. Not on Thanksgiving though.

I can’t believe the grandmother didn’t support Alyssa’s head!! The nerve she had to talk back to you!! :blah:

Hope your holiday was good!

awww I’m glad you’ll be able to finally get some decent sleep! And man, I woulda snatched my baby girl right back from that nasty old lady if she’d done that to my precious darling! Poor Alyssa! I bet in her head she was going “You stupid cow, gimme back to my mummy!”

You’re such a good sissy to your little brothers, no wonder they love you so much!

Umm… actually, my family always does Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter dinner around 3 or 4pm. I don’t think it’s that unusual. ;)

I’m sorry you’re not feeling well and haven’t had much sleep. I hope you’re able to catch up on some of it!! *hugs*

  10. We had dinner early yesturday and it’s a good thing because the electricity went out in the afternoon :headache:

Tact is so over rated. I would have said that whole brood mare stuff out out then I would be banned from having to visit the hag again. It’s a win-win!

Arianna is right, it’s an Italian tradtion to have 2pm suppers on Sunday. My family never did that though. Not sure why. Maybe because they suck! :blah:

Hey Jennifer! I just wanted to let you know that I found this girl who is redistributing smilies from many sites including yours and mine..she is linking back some (though the readme file clearly say you may not redistribute them in any condition)…she has not even linkied yours and mine site, your smilies are included in those white smilies set…just letting you know…

We always eat xmas, easter, and thanksgiving dinners anywhere from 2-3 pm. (shrug) I think it’s because no one eats anything beforehand and then we just sleep the evening away :-P

I’m glad you’re getting caught up on sleep. We ate our Thanksgiving dinner at 2. 2 sharp. Everything has to be on a schedule. *grr* Just wondering if you’ve gotten my check yet. I sent it out Monday morning. I know it might not have gotten there yet since yesterday was a holiday.

The only thing good for me on thnksgiving was the food… most of my family were being jack asses but I did enjoy the food!
I hope you get to feeling better and get some sleep!!!

I’m sorry about Daniel’s grandmother. I’ve never even had a kid and I know you have to support the head. You would think someone who’d had so many kids would know that, but I know that that’s not necessarily true.

I’m sorry that you’re sick. I hope you get to feeling better.

We ate at 12pm. Then I couldnt eat anything until 1pm the Next day!

  20. Ahh see I couldn’t put up with that stuff when very rarely I let people hold Daniel as an infant. I most likely would have said “I did not ask how many children you have birthed, I was reminding you to properly support MY DAUGHTER’S head and neck.”

*raises hand meekly* We always eat Thanksgiving dinner around 3-ish.

I’m sorry that you’re sick. I hope you feel better really soon!

We ate dinner at 1PM, only because my mom had to work. We usually eat at 2:30ish.

We often eat dinner early on holidays : P Even as early as 3 because we make so much food and intend to eat again later (mmm) : P We don’t get family together much, so when we do we make a big deal out of it and graze together.

We always eat early.. Ususally around 3 or 4, esp. for hollidays. So I don’t know why you had to say it like that(who the fuck eats at 3pm?) because there is more than one way.

Hope you feel better, and get some sleep.
