You know what bites the big one? Being assured that even though your income for your household has changed, you will still have health insurance until December 31st, 2004, then receiving confirmation from your insurance company on December 17th that you’ve been dropped like one hot fucking potato.
I was never able to go for my six week post-partum check-up. Not that I’m bleeding heavily or my uterus has fallen out, but still, a little reassurance that all is well internally is always a comfort. And even more importantly, I was unable to go to my Dec. 16th IUD (!birth control!) appointment because the damn doctor called and rescheduled me for January 6th, which is definitely WAY after December 17th.
:sigh:
I’m calling Planned Parenthood sometime this week (I feel like I have no time to do anything anymore. :P) to arrange an appointment with them. Thank goodness for sliding scale fees that are based on income. I could never afford to shell out a couple of hundred for an appointment, exam, birth control, etc.
Alyssa’s smiles are adorable. Her whole face lights up when she sees us (especially Daniel! :irked:). She smiles so big and looks like she’s laughing, except there’s no sound yet. I can’t wait. :heart:
I can’t believe it’s been almost a week since my grandmother died. 
I’m doing okay, my mom is dealing, but my grandfather is a mess. He only goes home to sleep; he spends every single waking hour at my mother’s house. I hope he can pull through this okay. :pray:

I hope your grandfather will be ok, but its perfectly normal his feeling so lost, it was the same with my boyfriends Nan and Grandad.. when his Nan died his Grandad was then suffering a broken heart

I hope everything with your Grandfather will turn out alright. As for Alyssa, she’s getting cuter and cuter (not that I have pictures, but judging from past one.. she’s so cute!)

Jenny, certainly your family must be eligible for medicaid? Or some plan through the state in which you pay a very minimal amt? I hope things get easier for you somehow. May the New Year bring a new start for your family, full of hope!
well, i havent commented her very much, but i do enjoy reading your blogs, and like ange said, you must be able to qualify for medicaid.
But don’t you have MORE income since both you AND Daniel are working now?

I’m sorry about your grandfather. It’s got to be hard on him after spending his life with her. He’s suffering from a broken heart. I’ll pray for him.

Sorry about your grandpa, but it’s normal… Is there a way you and your family can get him out more? Maybe spend more time with him?
just wait until she starts laughing out loud…. it’s the cutest, most adorable thing ever!!! Angel had his first laugh the beginning of December…. I just melt when he laughs.
Yeah, health insurance rates, etc is really going up and being stupid. America really needs better health insurance. We had to drop me & Abby from Richard’s plan cause our deductible went up to 5k! :headache: Good thing Abby has Medicaid…
Alyssa is probably smiling more at Daniel ’cause she sees more of you, so when she sees him it’s like oh it’s my Daddy! So happy to see you! :haha: Abby does that with Richard too.
