My grandfather is coming home today! He’s been in the hospital for nearly a month, and it’s been a rough ride for him. The heart surgery was fine, but afterwards he had a lot of complications with his kidneys, his stomach, toxin levels, allergies, etc.
So yes… this day has been long and anxiously awaited. 
I shall be heading over to my mother’s shortly to visit.
I applied at Target yesterday. Now it’s time to hope :crossfingers: and pray :pray: that they do hire me. All of the drama, favoritism and laziness at BK is really getting to me. The final straw that broke this camel’s back is the fact that I may not be getting a desperately needed and deserved raise (the measly little $0.20 that it may be) because of two days that I called off. Mind you, I had worked about five weeks straight, no call-offs, no lateness, coming in early, working on my days off, etc. A lot of the time I wound up working anywhere from five to nine days straight!
The days I called off? Two days in a row – because of my grandfather being in the hospital in ICU. And I called a day ahead of time for each day, so they had plenty of notice.
So yes… I’m pissed about that. Royally pissed. They screw me over, they screw over the small handful of good employees that they have… and then wonder why they can never keep anybody. Gee, I wonder…
So yes. As soon as something part-time and flexible comes along, I’m out of there. I applied at Piercing Pagoda/Plum Gold last week, and I got a call back from them yesterday evening – they do want to hire me! :spin: However, I may wait a day or two before calling them back. Target is my first choice for jobs – good pay, fun job, close by, and a good place to shop at as well! PP/PG is in the mall, which is a pain to get to, a pain to park in, and a pain to be in.
Now, let me end this blog with a little piece of advice: camgirls, wait until Daddy leaves the house before doing your shows! :haha: (Warning – boobs!)

just remember that you can always say yes to a job and then explain to them that you’re quitting for better pay/benefits/whatever. in most cases, they will fight to keep you (if you’re worth more than two dead flies, which i’m sure you are!!).

How can you work at the piercing pagoda? Gun piercing is really dangerous as it causes blunt trauma to the ear.

I hope you get the job at Target! I can completely relate (at least to a degree, different lines of work) about work! We have the same type of things going on where I work. Lots of favortism, lots of people bending over backwards for certain people but not others.. some get away with EVERYTHING while others seem to stay in trouble for minor things. It sucks but I really need this job, it pays better than most jobs around here.. so until I can find something else, I’m stuck. Good luck to you, I really hope you get it and get into a position where you’re happy, with good co-workers/bosses and a nice environment!

My cousin works at Target and she loves it there. Plus, you get a 10% discount on everything.
When she moved from St. Louis out to here in PA, they even gave her a job here at our local Target.. Talk about amazing! I hope you can get a job there too.

I used to work at BK. I was a shift manager. I was screwed over pointless times too. I never got a raise that I deserved. I worked on a campus for UW-Madison. So, we didn’t close until 3am on most nights. I got stuck working 12pm-3am and had to be back in at 6am the next morning to open. That was the last straw for me.
Surprise, surprise! I applied at Target and got the job.. lol. So, I hope your luck works just like mine did. Target was a really fun job! :D

Why Target? Honestly, it’s not going to be any better.
You don’t get a three month raise, only yearly raises.
Health insurance won’t kick in until a year.
… I work for Target right now, and am planning on leaving there come the beginning of Octoboer; I work overnight for them right now.
Good luck with the job, but really, it’s not that great.
Discount is only 10% too, and you can only get it if you use cash, or their target visa card.

I work overnight at Wal-Mart and they gave me a fourty three cent raise a while back just for being a woman. Ha! Also, if you work overnight, at least in Western New York anyway, you get a dollar extra an hour. :nod:
