Alyssa has been babbling her little head off lately. She doesn’t say any words (aside from “mama”, which is more like “mamamamamama” and/or “mum mum mum mum”… yeah, you get the idea.), but she sure makes a lot of sounds. Her favorites seem to be:
- Aayyyyyyyyy (think Fonz from Happy Days)
- A-boo (just like it sounds)
- Hey-ya (I hate that song!)
She’s also been doing this cute, rambling mushed up babbling that I can’t describe in words, so instead I’ll provide an audio aid (about 500k in size). Enjoy!
Oh yeah. I did away with the smilies. They’re cute, but they’re also distracting and cause too much clutter (or in my opinion they do!). I added a deskcam here, I probably won’t be bringing back the Q & A (because if you want to ask me something then you better have the balls to do so directly), and I’d have a guestbook up except that the script I want is currently unavailable.
That is all. I work in four hours and 55 minutes, so I need to get my butt into bed, pronto.
I cannot stop laughing at the idea of a baby sticking it’s thumbs out and going “Aaaayyyyy!” like The Fonz.
You should totally dress her up as Fonzie (Fonzy?) for Halloween. Hehehehehe.

Yeah, I’ve always stuck with text smilies because I a) could never remember the stupid selections of ::;s and words to use to call the smiley and b)they were distracting xD. I hate how the smlies always breaks up the lines of text.

Haha Alyssa is so adorable! It made me giggle when you said Fonz. It’ll be so cool when she finally starts carrying conversations. That’ll make for some interesting stories, I’m sure.

I have to agree about the smilies. Some still pop up in my blog once in a while, but usually when I don’t even realize it. Alyssa sounds like she is having fun. She’ll be spouting words soon. Jonathan’s first distiguishable sounds sounded like “bad mama”, so be happy that’s not hers ;)
Sound byte was sooo cute, I too agree with the no smilies. This page look almost relaxin with the soft colors and no ” In your face bright colors and clutter” not that the old page was bad or anything.. ;)
sure is adorable, my niece n nephew said “mum mum umum” a lot when they were babies and it meant “feed me”

Thats the cutest recording ever!
I use the little tiny tiny smilies.. they sorta blend in with everything. So I don’t blame ya for getting rid of ‘em, they can be overused at times.
The sound bite is too cute! Taylor is a babbler, too, she’s also famous for laughing out loud when NOTHING is going on. We’ll just be watching a football game and she’ll crack up for no reason.

Yeah, I can understand why you got rid of the smilies/Q&A. Smilies are nice but I find myself not using them as much anymore either. And as for Q&A, people ask you questions that are WAY too personal.. =/

Awww. Alyssa will be talking in no time at all. hehe. Thats cute how she says those words. hehe. Just recently, i’ve been trying to teach my little cousin (whos 17 months) how to say “Brandy”, but it sounds more like “Bambi” at the moment.
My daughter started walking and talking just before she was 1: and never stopped! LOL!! Funny thing, the first words she said were not mum or dad, but the cat’s name. She’d say “Ooie” for Louis and “Uddy” for Puddy, and then “ats, ats, ats”! The nurse couldn’t belive it, that she’d say cat’s names first! But she learnt to walk by trying to follow the cats around. She’s always loved cats and animals, while is now she’s at university studying animal behaviuor. So watch what Alyssa loves now; she might be laying some groundwork for her future career! LOL!!
Soon she’ll be talking non stop. It will be awesome. It must be adorbale listening to her babbles. And your slowly starting to understand it too.

Babies make the cutest noises. I especially missed the time when my baby nephew first went “Goo?” about three years ago.
And the pride you will feel when the baby calls you “Mama” for the first time!

Aww I love babies. I remember when my brother’s baby was born I would hold him for hours while they were away. Babies are so cute. Now that she’s trying to talk, you’d better watch what you say and how you say it, I used to work in a daycare and you;d be surprised what the kids will say. One even called me a cracker. LOL
