In just a few short hours, my baby girl is going to be one year old. I can’t believe it. Heh. It isn’t even her “official” (you know – down to the very minute) birthday yet, and I’m already getting sentimental. I am really an emotional wreck right now. It’s a good thing Daniel isn’t here… I’d really be falling to pieces since I’d have his arms to fall into for comfort.
Anyway. Between too much work, not enough time, I had no time to really plan out the big bash I wanted to. Sigh. But it’s okay. We’re going to have a nice little party here at home for her. It’ll be us, Daniel’s mother, grandmother, sisters and brothers, and my mother and brothers. I put up decorations – pink crepe paper, white ribbons and Happy Birthday! balloons – and I ordered a Winnie the Pooh cake for her (it’s adorable – I can’t wait to pick it up later today!). We have presents for her (clothing and a xylophone – the caterpillar, not the puppy), and I know my mother will too, as well as Daniel’s family. We’ll have snacks, cake and a good time. ♥
The past few days have been spent working, as well with dealing with a rather nasty employee there. Thankfully, she’s also being very malicious and rude towards two other employees, and there are several customer guest complaints, so that nasty little “situation” is being taken care of ASAP. And thank god… we work in the same department (guest services – aka returns/exchanges), and it’s hard to be in close proximity with such a horrible person.
I also cannot believe how much I ran around looking for a decent winter coat for Alyssa. I have one for her, but it’s white and furry and more dressy than casual – it isn’t something I’d want her in all the time. Plus it has a rather heavy lining, and I don’t think it’d be too comfortable to wear all the time. Anyway, I went through K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Target (but of course), and finally found a decent coat at BJs. The biggest problem is her size – apparently 18 months (a little bigger than what she’s wearing now – 12 months – but not so big that she’ll swim in it) is a popular size to have, because it’s hard to find! I found coats in 9 and 12 months, and 2t+… but it was a pain to track down an 18 months. I was relieved when I did!

Well…I can’t believe it’s already been a year….your daughter is such a beautiful little angel. I just had my son in May, so he’s 5 months old. My daughter will be three in March. My daughter was’nt really that hard to shop for…well I suppose she was because she was really long and I had to buy bigger month sizes for the length but they were usually to big around the waist. So..yeah..just wanted to share that with you….and to tell you that you are so lucky to have brought such a beautiful gift into this world…

Winter coats suck to find. Luckily my mom bought Jonathan’s last spring on clearance and gave it to him for his birthday. It’s a 3T and is barely too big (he wears 24mos/2T).

Aw, I can’t wait to go baby shopping. I can’t believe Alyssa is already a year old. I forgot how close our birthdays were. I turned 19 last saturday, and she’s turning the big 01!!!
Anyways, I’m glad they’re taking care of the work situation. I transferred to a petsmart up here in cali, and I’m starting next week. I’m crossing my fingers that nobody hates me too much.

It’s always hard to find what you want in the right size. I always find the cutest clothes for AJ & they never have them the right size. Ugh! Such a pain.
Aw, happy Birthday to Alyssa! How exciting? It can be a bit emotional, but don’t worry. The fun is just beginning — and that can be good and bad, lol. 18 months is the hardest size to find, like you have said. Everything seems to end at 12 months, and pick up at 2T.
