And a little bit of that.

It’s a miracle. I’ve managed to clear out my inbox from 101 unread/unanswered e-mails to three unread/unanswered e-mails – and those e-mails arrived just moments ago, so I’m in the clear! *joy* I also processed all pending apps for the network sites at KMK (I’ll get those moved over to kitty.nu one of these days…), and took care of some server things.

Daniel has himself a nice prescription for vicodin. He had a dental appointment this morning and wound up having two wisdom teeth removed – one of which was decayed – as well as some oral surgery around his gums. He brought my lunch to me (at work), and let me tell you, he looked awful. The left side of his face was all puffed up, he had blood encrusted around his lips and teeth, and he was drooling a bit as well as slurring. We later joked that he missed the boat for Halloween by a few days. ;)
Anyway, after the initial shock of having two holes in his mouth passes, he’ll be better. Rest and plenty of vicodin will fix him up in no time.
I have to say, I am now dreading my dentist appointment (my insurance should be kicking in within the next few weeks!). I have to have four wisdom teeth removed, and only two are fully out. Another is still under the gums (though enjoys making my entire face throb from time to time), and the fourth is half in/half out. And then there’s the lovely root canal and crown to do to another tooth. Sigh…

When it comes to work, I’ve accepted the fact that I am bound to be dead tired when I have to work at 8am. I am stuck in a second shift schedule – working from mid afternoon to 10-midnight, not going to bed until 3-4am, and not waking until 11-12pm. Without fail, every single time I’m scheduled for 8am-4:30pm, I wind up going into work on 2-3 hours of sleep. Today was no exception. Pfft.

This afternoon my supervisor called me into her office. We sat down, and she proceeds to tell me about a phone call she received. Apparently, someone called her to let her know that I maintain a blog (Like OMG! *insert horrified gasp here*). We chatted, had a few good laughs, and then returned to doing our jobs.
Now here’s the thing. When a person is nasty enough to stoop to such a nasty level of, well, nastiness… it’s time to Get A Lifeâ„¢. Throwing insults and participating in drama online is one thing… but attempting to fuck with a person’s actual life is quite another. There is a very definite line between internet drama and real life (though, as this has proved… perhaps not in the case of this particular person). It can only make me ask… what next? Showing up in a person’s town? Planting themselves on a person’s front doorstep? Vandalizing their vehicle? Stalking them at their job? Where does it end? It shouldn’t have even started!
But anyway…
As a member of jetrockit put it (in regards to a different topic altogether, mind you):

Sign off and go live your life.

That said, I’m off to find the husband something soft to eat. I may make myself my very own sub. I rummaged around in the fridge and came up with steak rolls (we keep our bread products in the the fridge to keep them out of the cat’s reach), grilled chicken breast, and shredded cheese. Add some mayo and toast the bread, and the ending result is one tasty sandwich! And it was much cheaper than Subway… ;)

Ouch, poor Daniel. I have that coming up, though. Not looking forward to it.

Calling someone’s work to report their blog? Ridiculous.

Ohhh. does a sub sound good right about now. and yea. reporting a blog, lame. Just jealous I’d say…

Hehe, it’s awesome to delete all of those e-mails, huh?! I get a ton also! Anyways, I have to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth out also… In a month… So I’m really scared about that… Hope Daniel will recover from it soon!!

Wow, that’s a ton of e-mails. Congrads on getting through all of them. I’m lazy and let them pile up until I’m forced to go through them. Sorry about your husband’s mouth. I dread getting my wisdom teeth taken out. Maybe yours won’t be so bad. Who knows! :) I hope Daniel is pain-free soon. That’s really dumb of someone to call your work. I don’t understand internet drama. Yes, I know, people can piss you off but why go so far as to call their work and report their blog. That’s lame. I can understand not getting along with someone online but to go that far .. that person really needs to get a life!! And, mmm .. that sub sounds good. Time to go raid the kitchen!! Take care! :)

I wonder who notified your workplace about your blog. Somebody with a lot of time on their hands, somebody who needs a hobby.

:-) for some peace of mind on your part, perhaps, i can say from experiance getting your wisdom teeth out like you jenn, isnt ALL that bad, mainly a dull ache for a week or two after. i had to have all 4 removed, and none of them had come out above the gum yet. if they give you a choice, i def reccomend the general anesthetic, becuase i seriously dont remember anyything about actually getting them out. stock your fridge with jello and pudding too – those are the BEST, along with popsicles, lol. i hope daniel feels better soon, and your dental stuff goes well!

Wow, people really need to find something to do. There’s nothing wrong with you having a blog…I mean it’s something that you pay for. I hope your husband gets better soon. I already have two wisdom teeth coming in at the same time.

Yeah that is a lot of e-mails. You work so hard Jenn! Also, people do need to get a life because there should be no reason to criticize you!

Are you serious? Someone actually called Target and told them that? Who does that?! Holy shit, people are disgusting.

Oh, and thanks Jenn, now I want a sub, and it’s only 7:23AM. LOL

  10. I am shocked someone would call your work place to mention you had a blog. I assume it was someone you know personally that could call the exact place you work? Do you have any idea who it was?

A few years ago my sister was an assistant manager at a book store and had a blog, she didn’t mention names but a bitter associate that had wanted her job PRINTED OUT her entries to bring to their store manager in attempts to get her fired.

    People are so insane.

aw, hope daniel feels better. i absolutly hate the dentist, ive been putting off an appt. since like… august. and as for someone actually stopping to call your work, thats kinda creepy. why would it matter that you have a blog anyways? people are pathedic. do you have any idea who it was?

  12. danielle wrote on #

OMG how in the world did she find your blog? It’s yours.. That sandwhich sounds so good :) I hope Daniel feels better

  13. Damn girl, that really sucks about someone phoning your store to inform then you have a blog. Who does’nt these days? It’s not like your doing anything illegal, just talking about your life and work to a mild extent. Some people really need to get a life. Hopefully this bullshit does’nt escalate to much out of control, stalking, etc. If it does I have your back in any way possible.

I’d piss myself laughing if someone called up my work to try and report me for having a weblog.. ’cause I know for a fact that my boss has read it. ;)

PS. Your spam moderation “only post once every 5 minutes” thing is bloody irritating :P

“I’ve managed to clear out my inbox”

but…I emailed you a few days ago and you never responded back to that? actually I’ve emailed you a few times this past month with no response.

It’s amazing how you clear your inbox of 101 e-mails, and yet manage to ignore the several e-mails my friend Katy has been sending you for the past three months. What? It’s okay to take her money, but after that you don’t know who she is?

Katy paid you $30 for a hosting service which you three months later are yet to provide, or provide a refund. Now that’s called extortion.

Katy has been very, very patient but she’s turned to me for help because I have a Law degree. I think it’s about time you took care of this situation. Katy has all the proof she needs through PayPal to contact the Better Business Beureau or begin a legal proceeding against you.

PS: I’ve heard the rumours, what you’re going to post my e-mail address and have your friends spam my inbox because of this comment? Well I am well within my rights as an Internet consumer to begin a civil court proceeding, and will not hesitate to do so.

I cannot believe someone did that. Calling your job? Like what, having a blog is such a crime? Stupid asses… Be careful with them Jenn. That’s worrysome. Not having a life to actually do those kinds of things, what is wrong with them? Seriously. They need help, and I’m not even saying it in a man way. I trully believe it.

Anyway, you just made me crave a subway! *points and cries*.

Poor Daniel, hope he’s feeling better. Careful about that blog thing though. Do you read dooce.com? She lost her job through her blog and it’s happened to others. Rotten, isn’t it, that our employers are allowed to sack folks for something in their private lives.

What did they think was going to happen when they told your supervisor that you own a blog, if they were stupid enough to think they were going to get you fired over that, they are really dumb.

I’m going to be the only one who says it out loud. I can guarantee the person who called about you was John from thedeadend.net. Why? Because when you’re too lazy to get a job of your own, destroying everyone else’s just seems to be the best idea. Maybe if he wasn’t a baby raper then he’d have a decent job, but what that’s right all he’s got is an opinion about everyone else. Fucking cock sucker he is. I love when someone goes out of their way to get hits by acting like a complete buffoon.

Hey Jenn .. I know it’s hard to ignore those things but the more you pay attention to them the more they are going to bother you so just leave it ( drop it ). My friends were telling me MANY times how I should not write diary and how it is very dumb to write my diary ( blog ) online so everybody can read it. I would just tell them that it is my own life that I am dealing with and there is no reason for me to hide my life from anybody in the world.

    Take care,
    Bojan
