‘Tis (almost) the season!

Happy Birthday Taylor!

It seems like everyone (myself included!) is chomping at the bit for the holiday season to “officially” start (Black Friday read between the lines.
Speaking of decorations – I’m all stocked up this year! I have plenty of white lights (last year I borrowed some colored ones from my mom, but she didn’t really have enough, so our tree looked kind of crappy), and now plenty of decorations as well. I’m going to be a bit more selective with garland, though, because garland is what really makes the tree. I’m thinkin something fluffy/looped… silver, of course. I need to scope out several stores before I make up my mind.
I also know what I’m getting as far as gifts! This is great! Any other time I wind up waiting until a few days before Christmas to get things, and then I’m ready to kill somebody out of frustration. Not so this year. I’m going to have all gifts purchased and wrapped by December 1st, and after that I’m staying out of the stores if I can help it!

Alyssa is in bed. Thank goodness. It’s hard to get her down early since we’re all on second shift schedules, but we’re trying. Tonight was good – 1am rather than 2-3.
Daniel has a job interview on Wednesday. If he lands this management position, there’s a good chance I won’t have to work all of these hours. And that would be wonderful. I want to be home with Alyssa – not only seeing her for an hour or two a day, as that’s how it was a few weeks ago when I had the 40+ hour work week. My mother saw her more than we did! Plus, keeping up with housework gets tiring when you’re cutting into sleep time to do it.

Anyway. Alyssa is at such a wonderful stage right now. Now that walking is no longer such an exciting thing to do as it was a few months ago, she’s back to being her sweet, cuddly self. She comes over and half drags herself up into my lap and enjoys staying there. We rock together, cuddle together, and take naps together (when I have the chance to squeeze one in!).
She loves when the three of us pile into the bed, on the couch or on the floor together. Daniel and I alternate between cuddling each other and playing with her, while she’s happily climbing and rolling all over us.
Alyssa is good at driving us crazy as well. She knows “No”, has a very good pout when she’s told “No”, and RUNS away from us when she has something she shouldn’t. She insists on taking her slippers/shoes off, and one sock as well (just one, mind you). Surprisingly, she kept her Halloween costume on, and leaves barrettes and headbands in place. But footwear? Forget it – off it comes!

Lastly, before I get going, there’s a new theme here at kitty.nu – click to see it. Oh… and does anyone have a moblog?

Oh I’m really looking forward to the holidays too but it’s still seven weeks or something. But only three weeks until the christmas tree comes in our house :) I have to make sure too that I buy the christmas presents really soon, I can’t stand the crowded stores and everyone is so stressed!
LOL She takes off her shoes and ONE sock? That must look really cute!

I am (and probably always will be…) one of these people that thrive on christmas-eve shopping. last minute adds to the fun, ha. Although this year will be different having recently moved to NZ!
I love this new skin – even the cat has a hot scarf! :) The sock story makes me laugh, just one?!

I can’t wait to start Christmas shopping. I promised myself to get started earlier this year, because I can’t stand the insane last minute shoppers.

Jordan is the same way with footwear/socks. It all has to come off! She’s been keeping a hat on lately thoug, which is nice since it’s getting chilly here. She has always left her pigtails and barretts in too. :)

I am SO terrible with holiday decorating. Each year I seem to latch onto a “theme” and I have go out and get new decorations, even though there is nothing wrong with the ones I have. Like one year it was all gold and silver, and this year I like all of those blue and silver decorations. I am so weird about it. And as for shopping, I am ready to go for Black Friday. My aunt is crazy about it and I love going with her. She finds deals that most people completely overlook.

I love the holidays. My mother and I have had our decorations forever lol.

I love childeren. Your daughter sounds like such a joy. I can just imagine how cute she is taking off her socks! lol

I’ve already started my Christmas shopping… I’m getting it all done as soon as I can. I still do like to get out there in the Xmas Eve rush.. but not if I have a lot of shopping to do. I’ll get into it for one or two presents.. just because I like the “rush”. lol I’m crazy.

We will probably put up our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. Trying to figure out how to keep Taylor from pulling off ornaments and lights… we’ll see how that goes.

Taylor is the same way with “No”. She’s bad about going to the edge of the wall and picking pieces of carpet up.. and of course it goes straight to her mouth. We’ll tell her no, and try to come get the piece out of her mouth.. and it becomes a game of Chasing Taylor.

    Love the new theme!!!

AJ is the same way with his feet – he hates anything on them. As soon as I put socks on his feet, he’s already tugging at them to take them off. He’s also very cuddly with us as well, especially when he’s tired and he just wants to be held and hugged.

Does Alyssa give kisses yet? AJ loves giving kisses and when you ask him for a kiss, he’ll either shake his head no or kiss you. When I tell him to “kiss Grandma” he’ll walk over to my Mom and pull on her pant leg or shirt and pucker his lips, and give her a kiss. So cute :) Babies are the best!!! haha.

Good luck to Daniel with the interview!

I can’t wait to start decorating for Christmas!!!

Wow, you’re so organized with Christmas stuff already. Knowing me, I’ll be out a few days before Christmas trying to pick out all my gifts for people. Haha.

I probably should finish all my Christmas shopping before December, though I know I won’t, I hate Christmas shopping, there’s always too many people in the stores. Haha I remember when my sisters were 1, I think “No” became their favourite word for a few months ;)

It’s too early to have Christmas music on and decorations up, especially in stores. It was my birthday yesterday so I’d rather think of that first. :D

  30. Jem wrote on #

So Lavish broke for Chrissy too. Odd, I thought it was just my ISP being a wanker again.
