Like a chicken without its head.

The one downside to being married to someone with a large family (on both sides, there are craploads of aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) is all of the visiting you’re obligated to do on the holidays! It’s not that I mind them. I don’t. Hubby’s family is very nice (though I kind of prefer the paternal side of his family over the maternal – simply because his father’s relatives seem much more down to earth and their homes are happily cluttered and look lived in). It’s all of the running around that gets to me – it really poops me out.

Take Christmas this year. Hubby, Baby and I will have our little Christmas here at home in the morning. Then my mother and brothers will come over to have Christmas with us (mainly for my brothers, so they can open their presents here). Then Hubby, Baby and I will head to his grandmother’s house to visit with his mother, brothers, sisters, grandmother, and some aunts and uncles. Then later in the afternoon we’ll head to his uncle’s house, to visit with his aunts, uncles and cousins there.
And then there’s my family! Then it’ll be off to the nursing home to pick up my grandfather, and then over to my mother’s house to have Christmas dinner there (and get presents! ;) ). And then finally, take my grandfather back, and the we’ll go home and fucking collapse in absolute exhaustion relax for whatever part of the night there is left.

Why the sudden rambling about all of the running around? I don’t know… Christmas isn’t too far away, and I’m already mentally planning on what time we’ll have to be up, the gas we’re going to use up, and how exhausted I’m going to be when the holidays are over.

Chris’ parents died when he was younger (in his 20s), so unfortunately we don’t get to visit them. Our Christmas Eve will be spend at my grandmothers, visiting my Dad and uncle and aunt. Christmas Day will be spent at my mom’s sister’s house with too many family members to mention. It’s not a lot of running around, just the couple hour trip on Xmas Eve.

Wow, that is a lot of running around. Aside from running around, I am so ready for Christmas! I think we’re doing the whole personal Christmas thing in the morning and then we’re going to my Grandparents. :/ Not sure yet.

That does sound exhausting. At least this is something you’ll only have to do pretty much once a year. I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time. :)

Maybe it’s the fact that these holidays are in the winter? At least, that’s what makes me so tired just thinking about Christmas and stuff. Hope you get in the Christmas mood! xoxo

Damn girl! Talk about busy. *shakes head* I’m hoping to have a nice Christmas, but i think that once again Jack will be at his mom’s instead of with me & my family. :( I offered to see both sets of family, but i think his mom will have a cow if she doesn’t see “her precious boy” ON christmas. Hang in there. Tis the season…to see family. ;)

I’m jealous. I would love to be that busy.
