Never count your chickens before they hatch.

If something smacks of being too good to be true, it probably is. That was a hard lesson to learn. But it’s been learned, and we’re moving on. There’s no more to really say about it, except at the last minute, not 24 hours after calling us and excitedly planning on getting together to sign the lease, the landlady backed out of the deal. Personal problems. Personal problems? In my experience, personal problems seem to revolve around money in one way or another… you’d think that having new tenants who are only more than happy to hand over about $2k would solve such a problem.

Sigh.

I plan on consoling myself with this gorgeous hunk of wood. It’ll match our decor (and Daniel’s desk!) much better than mine, yet it’s still a corner desk/tower style desk (which I love). Online it’s showing as being out of stock, so I may call the York store (a 50 mile round trip drive) to see if it’s in stock there. I can’t wait to have this desk. If I have to, I’ll assemble it myself. (Hubby is usually more than happy to put things together for me)

Work really flew by tonight. But then, if you’re given a project of sorting and stuffing four thousand pieces of paper and two thousand return envelopes into larger envelopes, and given three hours to do it, I guess it would fly. Needless to say, even with the help of a co-worker and two corp execs, we missed the deadline. Oops. But on the plus side, I didn’t get one single papercut. How do you like them apples?

Edit @ 1:36am
Considering that my alarm is set for 8:15am, I really should get my butt up.

Glad you didn’t get any papercuts! I got a nasty one from a popcorn bag of all things like 2 weeks ago and it’s still not healed! :(

I’m really sorry about the house, too. I’ve had people be bullshitters like that, too. I’d imagine it’s even rougher when you have a family to worry about too. I hope you find something else quickly.

Oh Jenn Sorry that that happen to you. F*ck that lady. Maybe you’ll find something better.

Aww, I’m sorry. But something better may pop up soon, and you’ll be glad this deal didn’t work out =D

Oh gawd, that sucks. “Personal problems” is not a reason for backing out of a deal, it’s an excuse. If I were in your position, I think I might just ring her up and give her an earful.

Well, I guess there’s something much better will come. :)

but. that was kind of dissapointing though.. by the way, your daughter is looking more like your husband. she’s cute.

Just think of it this way, it’s better to find out what kind of person she is and not get the apartment then have her be your landlord and be like that. Something better will come along or she’ll come to her sense.

Oh Jenn, I’m sorry. I know you had your heart set on that place. But like they say, “Everything happens for a reason”! I hope that something else comes up. *hug*

That desk is gorgeous! I have a corner desk too.

I’m thinking that this might be a sign that you’re going to find something bigger and better? That’s how it always works out for me. My frist car was supposed to be this really nice corolla, but it was sold “by accident” before we could sign the papers. Then I found my beautiful Jeep and I love it.

Sometimes good things come out of the worst situations :)

Oh I am so sorry! I hate that when you get your hopes up about something and then it falls through. There will be something even better that comes along!

Sorry about the house, i am sure you’ll find one that is just as good. :)

  13. Awwh, I”m sorry to hear about the troubles with the landlady. Personal Problems… shesh…. It could be a blessing in a way, as imagine if you had moved in and then she had turned into crazy landlord, jealous of everything, and assumes your terrible people after… yikes, dont want that. I’m sure you’ll find something better.

That’s a nice computer desk, I enjoy corner desks. This one is’nt and is still nice, but way to small for the printer/scanner and the computer along with my school textbooks.

People suck. But things will work out.

That’s horrible… you’d think she could’ve maybe addressed those personal problems a little sooner. :\ But Aidan had a point, someone like that could’ve been a bad landlord. Hopefully another opportunity will open up for you soon.

The desk is great, though – and there’s no harm in consoling yourself via a little retail therapy. ;)

I’m sure there’s a better house just around the corner, and it’s all for the best! Are you showing yet, Jenn?

I am sorry that happened. I know what it’s like to get your hopes up only for everything to get ruined.

That was really mean of her to do that to you though. She should have told you that in the first place.

That really sucks about the townhouse. I bet you’ll find an even better deal.

My mom wants us to move to Manhatten, we won an apartment there by lottery and now she’s thinking of backing out because she still wants to keep our apartment we live in now. She’s kind of going to let me down if she turns down the manhatten apartment because it’s so nice and has a really nice balcony.

I guess we kind of have a similar situation. LOL.

Oh Jenn. I realize I’ve got nothing to do with it, but I’m really sorry :( I’m sure there will be other options just as good.
