‘Til ya drop!

One of my biggest annoyances with myself is my love to shop. Furthermore, my impulsive need to shop. I’ll get it in my head that I want something, and if I don’t have it that day, I’m ready to throw a hissy fit. Thankfully, I realize how ridiculous this is, and manage to keep my hissy fits to myself… mostly. ;)

Target is my favorite “everything” store. They’re great for having clearance sections in every single section, and I almost always find something. Last week I found a pair of slip on booties for Alyssa, marked down from $9.99 to $3.99. And her baby food was on sale. Now, a savings of $0.14 per jar may not mean much by itself, but when you drop about $35.00 in order to buy two weeks worth of food at a time, it adds up (a savings of $7.84, to be exact).

Fashion Bug is my favorite clothing store. In fact, with the exception of socks (Wal-Mart, K-Mart and Target will do) and bras (Lane Bryant, websites), it’s my only clothing store. I love shopping there in between the seasons – January-February for marked down winter clothes, and July-August for marked down summer clothes.
Yesterday, after clearance savings and a $10 coupon, I bought two pairs of pajama/lounge pants, a pair of underwear and a spiffy peasant top for $23.00. Originally, all of that would have cost me nearly $90. Yes… big savings there!!!

Am I done babbling about shopping? I think so… the following items I will be purchasing next weekend, when our tax return and paychecks will put a few grand into our bank account.

*By the time I was 18 I had eight piercings in each ear. Five lobe, three cartilage. At various points I took earrings out, or they fell out, made my ears sore so I took them out, etc. In December I left out the top two on each side, because I realized that the piercings weren’t quite evenly lined up, and as insignificant as this sounds, it drove me crazy.
The end result is that as of right now, I’m down to five in the one ear, and four in the other.
I plan on getting repierced so that I’m back up to eight in each hole. Yes, that’ll mean four sets of earrings, and eight shots with the piercing gun, but it’s all good. I faced childbirth (and will be doing so again!); piercings are nothing compared to that. ;)

I’ll be 17 weeks pregnant as of tomorrow. ♥ I don’t recall feeling Alyssa moving around until about 21 weeks, but this time around I’m already feeling this baby. It seems like I’m carrying lower and am bigger (perhaps a bigger baby?), so that may have something to do with it. And, of course, since I was pregnant before, I know what baby movement feels like, versus gas or a rumbling stomach.

So what’s your employer going to think with all of those piercings in your ears? Don’t they have some type of dresscode that all employees mush adhere to?

The only dress code policy here is that we do not wear tank tops, mini skirts, tube/halter tops, or pajamas and slippers. Two girls have tongue piercings, almost all of us have nose piercings, and ears are no biggie. It’s a very laid back office environment. -Jenn

I’m guilty of shopping at Target all the time too. It’s like I see something and I think I need it, so I sometimes buy it.

I think your idea to get your ears re-pierced is great. I’m up to 5 in my right ear (three cartilage and two lobe), and I really like the way it looks. Hopefully it won’t hurt too bad when they pierce through the scar tissue.

Target and Walmart are my favorite stores to shop. I could spend all my money there if I had the chance to. Sounds like a good deal at Fashion Bug also! Congrats on being 17 weeks. I felt my baby kick at 17 weeks. This is my first pregnancy and I knew exactly what it was. A few more weeks and you’ll know the sex :)

omg target is my weakness. i refuse to get a shopping basket while i’m there because i wind up wanting the whole freakin store :x

i used to have way more piercings in my ears too, and i’ve slowly taken them out. i’m starting to want them back. i took my 2nd lobe piercings out because they were uneven – i totally understand.

and since you’re carrying lower…i’ll put my bet in that you’re going to have a boy ;)

  5. I’m pretty sure that your bigger because this is your second pregnancy. I post on a website with a bunch of other mommies/mommies to be, and they have all said that they are bigger the second time around. Some are only 8 weeks along and look like they are 12 or 13 weeks already! It’s crazy!

But, wow. You can feel the baby move already. That is so awesome. I can’t wait to feel mine move around. I’m sure it will be a great feeling.

That’s exciting you can already feel the baby … since you have already had a baby your uterine muscles are more lax and that also makes you be able to feel your little one sooner! Also ever pregnancy is different so the way you carry and such is probably just because its a whole new experience because its a new baby :D

I think that is what I miss the most about being pregnant feeling my baby because even when your doing something or upset/stressed its so comforting to feel your baby moving!

Aaah!! No piercing guns! I always stick to a needle, as piercing guns can’t be sanitized as easily or as well, and needles rarely hurt other than a pinch!
I loooove Target for furniture, and every time I go I have to argue myself out of buying a new set of towels because they’re so cheap, hehe. We don’t go often enough, imo.
Does having a baby moving around feel strange? My mom says I would tickle her by running my fingers along the sides.

Maybe the reason you’re feeling the baby so early is because theres not enough room…maybe because it’s crowded….maybe you’re having two? Hehe I always wanted twins when I was younger. Now that I’m older, I don’t know how on earth I could handle TWO new borns at a time.

Dont get it done with a piercing gun! They are NASTY! They cant be properly sterilized, so say hello to blood born diseases!!!

    I love Target! :D

And like it’s been mentioned – head out to a professional piercer and get your ears done with needles. Those guns are so so so bad for you.
