Surprise! I know I didn’t blog for five (no, make that six days), but I’m okay. Really. It’s just that when I wasn’t working (I’m full-time now!) I was spending time with my family, when I wasn’t spending time with my family I was running errands or eating or cleaning or showering or sleeping, and when I wasn’t doing any of that I was working on xoxo.nu.
WordPress 2.0 rocks. I love the admin interface. I was getting really tired of the old style one. One thing that bothered me was the font. Let’s face it, Georgia (or was it Garamond?) is not the best font for being easy on the eyes.
This time around I’m using WP’s page feature to manage all content on the site. Awesome, huh? I know I like it – it makes editing easier. Although I have to admit, I’m getting flash backs to the days of Geocities and its file manager. Editing files via browser is… odd. If WordPress keeps this up, at some point they’ll completely eliminate the need for FTP. Haha.
Yesterday was the perfect opportunity to wrap up things with xoxo.nu and launch it, seeing as how we were snowed in and all (14-18 inches), but I got busy making meals and cleaning… And by cleaning I mean picking things up and putting them away, only to do it all over again, since Alyssa would seize any “Mommy is sitting down!” opportunity to drag everything back out again. I swear, her favorite past time is to drag things from the living room to one bedroom, things from that bedroom to the other bedroom, things from that bedroom to the kitchen, and so on and so forth. Oy.
Our tax return hit our bank account Friday ($$$!), and we used it to pay a lot of bills so we’re ahead on everything. I also made a shopping list of household things we need (baby stuff, TP, paper towels, napkins, lightbulbs, soaps, etc.) and when I went shopping today, stuck to it religiously. After sales and opting for store/generic brands over name brans, I wound up spending about $75 less than I thought I would. Go me!
Daniel and I are still debating on what to do for Valentine’s Day. We have our list narrowed down to three different restaurants. I guess we’ll just pick one, go to it and hope it isn’t too mobbed to be seated!

I like 2.0 aswell, except the Rich Text Editor, I HAD to turn that off, I couldn’t stand it. I use WP pages too, they’re much easier I think.
I have to say, I do like what you’ve done here. A lot. If I could make one request, it would be to darken the text a bit (it’s pretty light), but otherwise I think everything’s fantastic. :D
We never really got any snow here in Portland (which is typical) so it’s crazy for me to see that people are still in the throes of winter.
This is an awesome Domain name imo. I had no idea you were switching and wondered where you’d been. We got some bad ass snow too, blagh! TOO COLD!!!
It’s great to finally see this domain go live! I love wordpress 2.0, I want to update but I guess I am a little to scared to, as I might screw something up. I had it installed in my new domain for a while, when I was concidering switching over to it…… though I would love to also switch over all my content to wordpress pages, makes it all seem so easy. Though my permalink (or whatever it’s called) seem to always screw up somewhere.

We got hit this weekend, but it didn’t amount to more than making the ground wet and muddy.
Tyler and I are going to a basketball game for Valentine’s day. We’re lazy and broke. We might go out to eat on the way there, or on the way back, but that’s it.
If you’re so concerned about being “easy on the eyes”, you might consider running your site through a contrast check, becuase quite frankly, I can’t read anything without struggling, and I’ve checked in on 3 monitors.

Ohh we got dumped with alot of snow over here in Abington too. about a foot or so from what I see outside. It’s very pretty, untill you have to go out in it, then it’s not pretty anymore.
