Reason #591 why I love my daughter.

Alyssa

Now that Alyssa has spent the past ten months enjoying the freedom and exploration that comes along with walking, running, climbing and jumping, she’s decided that she can settle down and go back to her sweet, cuddly self.

Every afternoon we take a nap together. We strip down to our underclothes and get under the covers. I lay on my left side and Alyssa snuggles right next to me, her head tucked against my neck, her hands twining through my hair and twirling around my necklace. I kiss her forehead and tell her I love her, and she sighs and shuts her eyes a few moments before I do.
I think her baby brother enjoys this time as well, as he seems to give a few kicks and pushes, then settles down to sleep right along with us.

And every night after eating dinner and brushing our teeth, Alyssa and I snuggle up with a blanket in the recliner, and I rock her to sleep, and then carefully and gently carry her into her room and put her into her crib.

I cherish these moments.

Shes so gorgeous. That made my heart just go “aww”, its amazing that you can spend thi stime with your children, i read so many blogs and its just moms bitching about their children. They brought them into the world! they need to love them, because sooner or later, the time will have flown by, and they will have lost their chance.

AWWW..you make me want to have children. Yes, cherish these moments because they go by so fast. I’ve been visiting your blog for a while now, I think I commented maybe once a long time ago. I just wanted to say congrats on the new baby on it’s way and that you have a lovely family. I enjoy your wit and humor here.

Adorable! Naps together are always wonderful, though it’s hard to get to sleep sometimes because if you’re like me, you’ll spend a good amount of time just watching your little one sleep. :)

    Awww, how sweet :)

Those are definately my favorite moments with AJ. Cuddling! Esp. right before we fall asleep. He still sleeps in our bed (I just can’t bear to be without him – although he can’t bear to be without me either. hehe.) and he’s always snuggled right up next to me, hogging my pillow and holding onto me as he sleeps. It feels so good.

Yea, sometimes you have to take a step back and enjoy what you have that very moment. I’m not a mother yet but I’ll believe it when they say that the younger years just scoot by so quickly.

Older mothers, including my own, are always explaining how those moments do not last long enough.

And your daughter is beautiful :)

I’ve followed your blog for years, and I absolutely LOVE reading posts like this. I can see how much you’ve grown as a person since you’ve become a Mom. I love reading about your life and your experiences as a nurturing parent, one that can take a simple everyday experience and find a blessing in it. These years with our babies slip by so fast, I’m thrilled to watch you cherish yours. I can’t wait to read about your next baby! It won’t be long…
