Well now.

Like a moth to a flame (do I have you singing That’s The Way Love Goes now?), I’ve always been drawn in by eye candy. Maybe that’s why I’m enjoying Windows Vista so much. I realize it’s not the final build, and there are bound to be quirks and issues (as of yet none have popped up, but I know it’s only a matter of time), but so far, yummy!

But let me tell you, it wasn’t easy getting to this point. First I had to download the .iso from Microsoft’s website. My laptop didn’t want to install the download manager (and with a wireless signal that drops for a few seconds every now and then, I wasn’t about to embark on a 2.5gig download without one!), so after a few tries I switched over to the desktop. I got it downloaded, and then it was time to burn the .iso to a DVD. Did that. Then it was time to install. The laptop didn’t want to read the DVD (something about an I/O device error; Googling gave me some suggestions that did nothing). I tested it on the desktop – it worked fine. So now what? I had the program, I had it burned… I wanted to put it on the laptop rather than the desktop, as the desktop is where I have my accessories connected at.
As they say, there’s more than one way to skin a cat. I popped the DVD back into the desktop, then ran it on my laptop via our network. Two odd errors and about three hours later, it was finally installed and ready to go. Sweet!

Speaking of cats…

I have 7 kittens to offer,4 are tan and white,3 black and white, they are part siamese and part himalayan, very playful.

Daniel hinted that having a cat that was “his” would be nice. Of course, any cat owner knows that the cat chooses his preferred person, not the other way around. But I digress. I responded to the above ad today and will be going to look at kittens tomorrow. Aside from some extra cat food and another food dish, we have everything we need. Blueboy has a vet appointment on Tuesday, so I can simpy take the kitten (assuming I choose one) along for a check-up, vaccinations and neutering.

Aww. Alyssa just came in to tell me, “Night!”, then blew me a kiss as Daniel carried her down the hallway to her bedroom. And yes, my toddler is going to bed at 11:30pm. We all operate on second shift. I’m going to have to work on that though, because next year she’ll be going to pre-school.

Okay, it’s time for me to make “night”. But I’ll be blowing a kiss to Daniel, not to the internet. ;)

I have Vista as well. The only problem I had was getting the graphics to look right, I couldn’t get the proper driver to install. But eventually it worked.

    I like it so far!

good luck with the kitten! My aunt works with cats, if Daniel wants the cat to be “his” he just has to be the one to take care of hit and handle it a lot. It works!! Be sure to post pictures if you get one!! :)

Kittens are soo tempting. Joe and I got our 4th (!!!) kitten about 4 months ago. They grow up way too fast, she’s already in her teenage stage!

What Alyssa did is so adorable. I don’t have kids, but I know that when they do things like that, it makes all the tantrums and the fits WAY worth it!

Don’t feel bad about keeping her up so late. I have had nights when I’ve let my kids stay up until they pass out. It’s just easier that way.
