Anyway. So I sat him down, and as he was looking through the scrapbook I went into the bathroom and put Kitty into a little box. I brought the box out and waited for Daniel to look up. He did, but went back to the scrapbook.
“Sweetie”, I said, “I think you had better open this present!” He looked perplexed, then laughed as I handed him the rustling box. He looked at me and said, “What is this?” and then the box meowed. He was surprised and instantly head over heels for the little guy.
Kitty has been with us for two days now, and is bonding beautifully. He runs waddles after us, “talks” (he is part Siamese, after all) all the time, trills, purrs, nuzzles, head butts, licks, kneads. Any cute kitten thing you can think of, he probably does it. And Kitty still has no name! Scratch that! I just got off of the phone with Daniel. Kitty does have a name – Kirin.

Ugh, my next door neighbor is such a prick. He really is. When Daniel and his brothers were moving everything into the house, they parked the U-Haul near the back of the house, on top of a small area that is mostly packed dirt and no grass due to the major shade from a large tree that grows next to our house. (Holy run-on sentences Batman!) I repeat: the small area they parked the U-Haul on was packed dirt, not grass. Wouldn’t you know, the next door neighbor called the community’s manager/overseer to report us for parking on – and subsequently damaging – the lawn. Right. Meanwhile he’s the one parking his piece of shit pick-up truck on his lawn all the time. I even took pictures, both of the truck itself and of the deep tire marks left on the grass from him repeatedly parking his truck on it. I normally wouldn’t have even though of taking pictures, as I think it’s a petty thing to do, but one of these days this guy is going to push me, and then he’s getting his comeuppance – via those photos being anonymously delivered to the community manager.
So why the ranting about my next door neighbor? Well, tonight some friends came by with a sofa and parked their pick-up truck on that same packed dirt area. They were here for less than five minutes – long enough to say hello, unload the sofa and get a drink. I saw them start to pull out, and suddenly I saw headlights trained on their truck. I look out – next door neighbor had taken great pains to turn his truck around and point its headlights at my friends. I also saw next door neighbor himself heading over towards them, but as soon as I stepped outside he scattered. I waved my friends on and told them to ignore whatever it is he said to them, if he said anything.
Pfft. I don’t get this guy. No wait, I do. This is the guy who bragged to my husband, mother and various other people that he enjoys causing trouble for people. This is also the guy who makes snide comments about our lawn. I heard him mutter about how his lawn looked so much better than ours, was better cut, and so on and so forth.
Well I guess it would be. This guy is in his mid 30s, unemployed, and lives with his mama (who seemingly ignores whatever her son says and does). What else does he have to do besides mow their lawn every other day (I only wish I was kidding)? Daniel, on the other hand, works 45-50 hours a week and has a family. He has a wife to love and sex up, a little girl to play with and chase around, a baby boy to cuddle and snuggle with, two cats to enjoy, and we do various activities and family outings. There isn’t much time left over to mow all of the grass we have (about twice as much as the next door neighbor).
But enough of him. He can continue to spy out of his windows when he isn’t whacking off to god-knows-what and mowing his lawn, and we’ll continue to ignore him as best as possible.
Alyssa is going to be a ladybug for Halloween. Since Ryan is going to be in the sling, I decided to get a Halloween costume that would kind of fit in with the sling. And so after searching around and asking others for suggestions, I decided to dress him in this sweet pea costume. I can’t wait until it gets here so I can try him in it!

Anyway, I’m off to un-fuck my laptop. I installed RC1 of Windows Vista… worked like a charm. Then RC2 was released. I installed it last night, tried it this morning. The sound is echoing, my mouse (both using the cordless mouse and the laptop’s touchpad) is lagging, and earlier the computer wouldn’t boot up. It turned on and got so far as a black screen with the mouse cursor… and that was that. It took several restarts in safe-mode before it finally loaded. And even after updating drivers and disabling many start-up items (I think Adobe Gamma Loader is what was stopping the laptop from booting up) it’s still not right. So I’m going to go back to RC1. However, I don’t think I can just “roll back”. I’m going to have to do a quick reformat using the laptop’s pre-loaded crap (to get the basic drivers for everything), and then upgrade to RC2. Blah. Between that, putting Alyssa to bed, working on a load or two of laundry and caring for Ryan, there goes the rest of the night.
Oh, and speaking of night… Ryan slept through it last night! He – and I! – went to bed at 10:30pm and didn’t wake up until 10:00am today! ♥
And not to be outdone in regards to milestones, Alyssa is suddenly consistently saying the following:
Thank you – Ink oo
I love you – ove you!
And she’s blowing kisses and saying “mah” (mwah) right after doing so.
P.S. To my dailies and links: I’m so sorry I haven’t been commenting much lately. I’ve been around and lurking, but my hands have been full a lot and it gets tiresome to type with one hand! Perhaps I’ll try out the voice-recognition software Vista supposedly offers, once I get everything on the laptop straightened out.

Cute costume! I love the way toddlers say ‘thank you’, so cute. We’re trying to get Taylor to say ‘please’ more often, and I think we’ll be working on ‘you’re welcome’ for a while since she doesn’t get that it comes in conjunction with the ‘thank you’.
That kitten is too adorable!!
I hate neighbors like that! We have a neighbor who likes to park his truck in our yard!
Those costumes are adorable! I am dressing Samantha in a ducky costume!
Good luck with your computer.
Oh goodness me! that kitten is absolutely adorable. I’ve actually been keeping my eye out for a kitten just like that because I really want a playful and adoring kitten.
Enjoy halloween! The costumes are great!
the newest addition to your family, kirin is by far the cutest kitty i’ve seen in a long time. i want a kitten now
OMG Kirin is soooooooooo cute!!! Good choice in costumes too. my little nephew is little over 2 months now and hes gonna be a pumpkin! lol
That’s such a cute name for the kitty and he sounds so incredibly precious. Your neighbor sounds like such a cock, I’d shrug him off. Give him a piece of your mind someday. Alyssa looks so adorable in that costume.
Aw, the kitten is adorable! It looks a lot like mine did when she was little. I love the Siamese-cross kittens, with their gorgeous blue eyes!
I love his name :). I can’t believe how blue his eyes are. He’s so gorgeous.
Alyssa looks very cute in her ladybug costume.
That is one pretty cat. I must admit that I dont find cats that attracting – but this one is really sweet.
We have Freakazoids as neighbors too – but what the hell – your new neighbor seems to be pretty bored. I hope he wont cause you guys too much trouble in the future… why can’t we never live beside nice, helping and intelligent people
aww I want a kitty! He’s too adorable
And your neighbor needs a life. At least you have those photos in case you ever need to use them

What a cute name for the kitty
I love the slighty cock-eyed look that Siamese cats have. Our best friends have a Siamese that is so cross-eyed it’s almost pathetic, lol.
Man, your neighbor sounds like a real ass. Good idea taking those pictures. It’s always a good call to have an ace up your sleeve in case this guys takes things any farther.
Oh! Lissy looks ADORABLE in that costume. Excellent choice!
