After browsing through a few chapters of Mars and Venus in the Bedroom: A Guide to Lasting Romance and Passion, I've come to the horrifying and embarassing conclusion that our sex life kind of sucks.
Husband is pretty much the stereotypical man outlined in some of the chapters: impatient, direct, wanting to get down right to it. And I fit the mold of the stereotypical woman as outlined: teasing, drawing things out, frustrating him, etc. We need to do a swap – he needs to take more time, tease more, draw things out, and I need to hurry up a bit and just get down and dirty.
No wonder he's almost always tense and ready to explode, and I'm laying there thinking, ho hum and almost preferring some self-lovin' over his rush-rush-rush mentality.
Ergh. You'd think that in six+ years of a monogamous relationship we would have figured things out by now.
