Mom of the year, right here

Girl Child has learned how to use “shit” in context. Example: She drops a toy. “Shit!” Or she can't get the cap back on a marker. “Grrr… shit!” I find this hilarious (even though I don't let on to it). I should secretly tape her doing this.

God, I've really let myself go. I'm doing well with slowly losing weight, and maintaining a healthy, balanced diet. But the rest of me? I only shave my legs once a week or so, the girly parts maybe every other day. I haven't touched my eyebrows in nearly two weeks. I haven't changed earrings in over a month. Make-up? I don't bother with it much. And my nails? Let's not even go there.

Since I'm not going out much (it's not easy juggling a toddler and an infant on your own), I slop around in pajamas and tank tops, or jeans and plain tops.

But the worst has to be my hair. Postpartum hormones have wrecked it beyond repair. Despite not coloring or bleaching since the beginning of July (and even then, it was a quick dye to a darker color followed by some highlights), and using various moisturizing and repairing shampoos and conditioners, and brushing gently and having it tangle-free at all times, it turns into one big, matted clump whenever it gets wet. Brushing it is nearly impossible. So lately I've been letting it go… just throwing it up into a bun or a ponytail while it's wet, then using more conditioner and detangler to try and brush it out when it's dry. I am ->this<- close to just taking scissors and hacking everything up to my ears off.

Just a few more days to go… come Friday, I’m heading to the hairdresser’s to get my hair cut up to my shoulders and heavily layered (for body and styling purposes, of course), and I’ll follow that up with a deep conditioning treatment.
I’d love to color my hair again, as I have about three or so inches of roots, but I promised Husband the chance to finally see my natural hair color. I've been regularly coloring my hair since I was fifteen, and we met when I was sixteen… so yeah. He's never seen my hair in its natural state.
It's rough holding out on coloring, as I'm so very sick of these damn highlights, but a promise is a promise. :)
