I just realized we’re into December. So far we’ve done Christmas shopping for two people… there are still eleven more on the list, plus each other. Kill me plz.
I want to get Christmas cards out by the 7th. I need to get a portrait of Girl Child and Boy Child to put in each Christmas photo greeting card. I was going to take them to Picture People for a portrait, but the idea of packing both kids up and dragging them and spare outfits to a crowded mall filled with frazzled parents and screeching kids is more than just a little daunting.
Instead, I think I’ll put my uber l33t Photoshopping skills to use and do my own portrait of the kids. I have a nice one of Girl Child, featuring her in white, against a white background, in full light, with an overall “soft” light to the photo. I’ll do the same kind of atmosphere for Boy Child’s photo, then stick the two together in Photoshop and print it out. Ta-dah, Christmas cards!
Shopping, shopping. Christmas shopping is so stressful. Each year I promise myself that I’ll be like those people and get my shopping done in September. But no… we still wait until December. We’re getting better though. Three years ago we went shopping on Christmas Eve (I wish I was kidding). Two years ago we went shopping on the 18th. Last year we went shopping around the 15th. Now this year we’re off to an okay start, with a bit of the shopping out of the way as of yesterday.
