Ten days without blogging? I think I broke some kind of record. Now, where’s my prize?
In truth, nothing extraordinary has happened. I’ve simply been busy, that’s all. Busy cleaning the house and going through things, busy cleaning up the many, many messes Alyssa has suddenly started making on a near hourly basis, and busy organizing 1300+ songs in iTunes. It took me over a week to add song info (album, artist, title, year, etc.) and album art. And that was with the assistance of half of a dozen programs.
Now Christmas is right around the corner. We did some decorating yesterday – setting out the knick-knacks and wall decorations, putting up white lights in the front windows and red bows in the center of each. Tomorrow we’re doing our marathon Christmas shopping, which will include purchasing presents for over a dozen people, getting our own household and food items, and hauling home a (real) Christmas tree to decorate tomorrow night. We’re going to be on go-go-go for at least five hours. Someone remind me to get my butt into bed before midnight, as I’m going to need as much sleep as I can get!
A little bit ago I was nursing Ryan, and suddenly he clamped his gums down hard. Pain exploded from my poor, flattened nipple, and all I could do was manage a shocked gasp. Ryan pulled back and gave me his froggy grin. He’s done it twice now. I did what I’m “supposed” to do and immediately took him off the breast, but I don’t know if that’ll be enough, as he didn’t seem too upset by the loss. That and the fact that the second time he bit me I couldn’t help but laugh at his froggy grin (I’ll try to get a picture of that particular smile asap). Ugh… I hate the part of parenting where you want to laugh but can’t because it just makes things worse.
And Ryan? Oh boy. He’s got me wrapped around his itty bitty finger and he’s not even six months old. He’s going to be a lady killer when he hits his teens and twenties. I’ll have to keep him (or at least his balls) under lock and key!
