Happy 2007! Now, raise your hand if you’re like me and will most likely be writing 2006 for the next few weeks. You’d think that after years of going through this every 365 days we’d get into the groove right off the bat, right?
What did everybody do to celebrate New Year’s? Daniel and I invited his brothers (yes Lisa, the Hot One was there) over, and we all played Guitar Hero for a good part of the evening. We enjoyed chicken, shrimp and chips, and around 11:55pm we tuned in to watch the ball in New York drop. At midnight Daniel and I kissed. Not long after his brothers left, and Daniel and I proceeded to the bedroom to kick off the new year as we always do – with great sex! Rawr.
(The one craptacular part of parenthood is the realization that we’re going to have to tone down our friskiness, so as not to wake the kidlets up in the middle of the night and confuse and or scare them into thinking Daddy is hurting Mommy, or whatever it is kids think upon hearing their parents or walking in on them) ). (Holy parentheses Batman!)
New Years resolutions… do you make them? Do you keep them? I look at every new year as an opportunity to make it better than the last. Daniel argues that we should look at resolutions on a day by day basis, but I don’t see that happening. For one thing, too many resolutions can’t be resolved in a twenty-four hour period. Do you know anyone who has lost 50 lbs. in a day (liposuction excluded)?
My biggest resolution is to take the time out to focus on myself a bit more. I’m so busy with being a mother and being a wife that too often I’m forgetting to be Jenn.
A smaller, not so important resolution is to try to blog every single day. Ha. Expect lots of last minute blogs that’ll look something like this:
11:58pm
Spent the day with the kids, doing laundry, now waiting for the husband to get home. Goodnight!
Anyway. I’m going to mess around on Flickr a bit more, then work on some laundry. Dinner shall be arriving (via my mother, who is bringing one of those big party trays over) soon. Yummy.

Sounds like a fun New Year, sissy. Everything but the sex, disgusting. But still, I LOVE shrimp.
Your bro.

As the domain name suggests, my name is Jenn, and I own this blog. I'm 26 years old and married to my one true ♥, Daniel. And while I have two kids (Alyssa is five, and Ryan is three), you won't find "mommy" in my username or email address, nor does my blog revolve around them. I'm a mother, but most importantly I am me, with a passion for love, blogging, reading, and photography. I'm also a busy freelance writer, web designer & SEO goddess, and a blogger relations person for an adult toy company.
