What made you choose your particular cell phone provider? Did a particular commercial grab your attention? Was there a sweet new phone promotion advertised on the back of your newspaper? Or did you just choose whatever company your sibling or best friend uses?

Now what about your phone? Did the hype surrounding a particular phone draw you in? Or were you more attracted to phones that had specific features? Or did you just pick the cheapest phone available?

When I first decided I wanted a cell phone, I had no idea which of the three big companies to go with – T-Mobile, Verizon, Cingular. I settled on T-Mobile, not because I knew much more about it, but because a few people at my job had phones and service through them. Boy, do I regret that. It has been two and a half years since signing up with them, and due to contract terms and me stupidly buying phones through them, I’m stuck for another six months…at least.

It’s because of tendency of cell phone companies to overwhelm you with sales, discounts, promotions, “special offers” and very flashy advertisement that I really, really like the concept of Wirefly. This site gives you so many choices when shopping for phones and plans. You can browse by carrier, by phone/model, and even by the features you really want in a plan! A quick plug of my zipcode into my preferred company of choice (I’ve had my eye on Cingular for a while now, and I just may switch now that I can see what they’re really about) brings me directly to a page that displays a neatly formatted and organized comparison of all of their plans.

I can check out phones by their carrier, model, and even look at the specialty phones, such as Cingular’s BlackBerry.

Wirefly puts everything you need at your fingertips. From one site you can choose the phone of your choice from the company of your choice, pick and customize your plan, and even shop for accessories. One additional perk is that shipping is free. Or, if you prefer, you can order by phone – 24/7.

All in all, I have to say, Wirefly has got it covered – from phones to plans to accessories, everything is right there, awaiting your browsing pleasure.

Pretty layout. Just so you know, Blackberry’s aren’t just with Cingular, pretty much every carrier has them :)

I have Verizon Wireless, it is the best service in my area. Six years ago I had Sprint, and it was nothing but trouble. In some places, mostly west NJ toward pa I would get no service!! So I got VW, and T-Moblie here doesnt work well either, my friend has it and she has to go outside to use her phone otherwise it doesnt work! I like VW bc once you have a plan with VW for 1 year and ur all paid up, you can request a early renewal, which means u can get a new phone for $20, depending which phone u pick. Thats how I got my pink razor, and now I miss my old cell that Matthew using. The camera on t he razr is bad!

I have Sprint and I love it. I have an amazingly priced plan, full service everywhere I normally need to go, and a 15% monthly service discount for being employed by the state of Ohio. Money was definitely the main incentive when I switched to Sprint, I paid $200 for a phone, and got $225 in rebates. I about fainted!
