Daniel’s grandmother died this morning at 11:00am. She had been in the hospital since last Saturday, when she was admitted because of how poorly she was doing. They operated to remove her severely infected gallbladder. When they opened her up, they found out why her gallbladder was so infected – cancer had taken over her liver and had spread to her gallbladder.
She didn’t do well after the surgery, and by Sunday evening she was in ICU. It was Monday when we all went to see her and say our goodbyes. She was on a ventilator and was receiving a bit of morphine to keep her comfortable.
More scans done throughout this week revealed that the cancer was everywhere.
They took her off the ventilator Thursday morning, and she died today.
I grieve for her, because she was sort of a stand-in grandmother after mine died in December of 2004. I’m also overwhelmed with grief and sorrow for Daniel and for his family. She was a wonderful woman, and I miss her, and I feel so badly for everyone affected by her death.
Mary, 1926 – 2007.

It’s good that she didn’t have to suffer through the cancer, but I feel your pain. I don’t know if I could go through what you’re going through. Each time my aunt goes to the hospital, it just puts me on edge.

I'm a mother, but most importantly I am me, with a passion for love, blogging, reading, and photography. I'm also a busy freelance writer, web designer & SEO goddess.

I am so sorry to hear about Daniels grandmother.
