I’ve been staring at the same eight empty boxes for the last week. I really should get my ass moving and start packing, but I hate packing. Hate it, hate it, hate it. Now, unpacking isn’t so bad… actually, unpacking will be quite fun, as I get to stick things in new rooms and new cabinets and in new closets and on new shelves. But packing? Blech.
…But it won’t be too bad. Since we moved in here, I’ve made a huge effort to be very organized. And once a month I have gone into every room of the house and followed through with a goal to remove three items. I either sold, donated or threw out the items I removed from each room. It’s worked out quite well, actually.
So, when it comes to moving, what do you dislike more? Packing or unpacking?

I HATE unpacking. I’d rather pack a million times than unpack once.
I think I dislike unpacking. It’s cause I’m lazy and just leave everything in boxes.
At this point, I would love doing both, since my hubby and I live with my parents, I would so enjoy it! I am so happy for you and your family!!

Unpacking. I hate how unorganized things are when your first starting to uinpack. Drives me mad.
I don’t mind packing, because it’s a great excuse to go through everything you own and get rid of the stuff you don’t need anymore. I desperately need to go through everything I have since I will be moving in with my fiance in September, but luckily I have plenty of time until then :-)
I hate unpacking! Even on trips when I’ve been away for a few days, I live out of my bag because I’m too lazy hehe.

I like packing for the same reason Gina stated – you get to really comb through what you have and decide what to toss in the garbage or give away!
I really don’t mind either, but both get tedious after so many boxes….
I think I prefer unpacking more because I like putting away things in empty cupboards and stuff like you said.
