hardwaregeeks.com has released an article discussing the top 5 smartphones according to Wirefly.

Despite the fact that we’re just into March, already smartphone sales have grown 70% from what was sold in the third quarter of 2006. The increase is due to both increased awareness among the general public (thanks to national advertising programs) as well as a better selection of phones. Let’s face it – no matter what capabilities a phone may have, it’s going to appeal to the masses when it is thinner and stylish.

According to hardwaregeeks.com, smartphones are appealing to even teens. Smartphones are no longer just for the IT specialists or busy, traveling business executives and agents. Nowadays phones that are equipped with QWERTY keyboards are much more appealing than they once were. Also, smartphones are becoming more hip and pocket friendly, which is a definite plus in my own book.

The top five smartphones according to Wirefly include the BlackBerry Pearl and Motorola Q. For the entire list, be sure to read hardwaregeeks.com’s article.
