Here, there, everywhere

This entry is going to be all over the place. Consider this an advance warning and apology.

Alyssa is getting so talkative! Just yesterday she came over to me and told me, “Mommy, ‘mercial… ewwwww” while handing me the “mote”. How do you explain to a two and a half year old that you can’t fast forward through commercials? Today I caught her giving spoonfuls of mixed berry applesauce to Ryan. While I encourage sharing and bonding between them, I don’t think he’s quite ready for berries. Though he certainly smacked his lips enough…
Tonight she told me, “Mmmm, Mommy… applesauce, so good!” And to think, just a few months ago we were struggling to get a single word out of her!

Ryan is growing like a weed. He’s in 12 month and 18 month clothing. When Alyssa was his age, she was still wearing 3-6 months… even now she still fits into a few 12 month size onesies. It’s insane! He’s almost sitting up on his own, though he can pull himself into that position on his own – if he’s already slightly reclined, rather than laying flat on his back. He hasn’t tried crawling since that one time. What can I say? My kids are lazy. Alyssa sat up around now, tried the crawling thing, then went right to walking at nine months of age.

I’ve been breastfeeding Ryan for almost eight months now. He is now coordinated enough that he can easily grab onto my breast and tug it to him, even properly positioning the nipple in relation to his mouth so he can pop right on. He also grabs at my shirt and attempts to rip it off of me when I’m holding him. Other times he’ll do random face plants into my cleavage. Obvious much? He also recently decided that the right breast is his favorite, rather than the left. Amusing.

When I am done breastfeeding I am treating myself to an uber sexylicious awesomesauce (thank you Elyse for that word!) push up ommph! type bra that’ll push my boobs up and into next week. I can’t wait.
I also need a decent pair of shoes… casual ones. I really love shoes like these (and these and these). But I have big feet… size 11, to be exact (it runs in the family. My mom is a 12, and my grandmother was a 13!). So, it’s not easy to find stylish and comfortable shoes that are in my size. Suggestions?

Okay, I am think I am done with my here, there, everywhere ramblings. Wait, no I’m not! I uploaded videos of both kidlets at youtube. And since I haven’t posted any pictures in a little while, after the cut are some of Alyssa (okay, only one of her… but she won’t stand still for a photo! I have more luck catching her on video) and Ryan.

I too have size 11 feet, and wide width to boot! Shoes are nearly impossible to find that are comfortable and look decent!

Awwwwwww, your babys are so cute, kids say and do the darnest things, don’t they?

  3. I just watched your video’s on YT :) awesome, so adorbale.

  4. I also forgot to mention about the shoes .. I have big feet, but yours are bigger! (sorry I had to say it) … it is so hard to find cute fancy shoes for big feet, as mine are a 10! (9 1/2 on a good day – haha!) … most larger sized shoes look ugly when you see a pair of cute shoes in like a size 7 or something

  5. it’s great when they start speaking in more complex sentence structures, no? i remember when my sister one day just started to say “I’m not a baby, I’m a big girl!” and no one argued with her. hehe

My feet are size ten, and they’re really wide. It’s hard finding nice shoes, so I usually have to spend a lot of money on them. It sucks.
