Oh my, so tired!

I was up until very late last night. Very, very late. I didn’t fall asleep until after 3:30am. When the alarm went off at 7am, I just laid there for a minute, trying desperately to come up with a way for the day to go on without me having any involvement with it. But, no solution came to mind, and so I got up, got Dan up, got the kids up.

Alyssa was so funny to wake up. “Alyssa”, I call to her, “it’s time to get up.” “Uhhh”, she moans at me, rolling over and pulling the blanket over her head. “Alyssa”, I repeat, “it’s time to get up. We have to go out and go to the new house.” “Uhhh… tired”, she moans. But, she gets up. Slowly. Sleepily. But she’s up and moving.

In typical Jenn fashion, we’re running late. I swear, I’m going to be late for my own funeral. We get to the house at 8:15. The propane company is there, along with the deliverer/installer of the fridge and range. Oops. They get in to the house, behind it, and start doing their thing. We chill (literally, as it was about 40 degrees outside and not much warmer inside!) with the kids, connect our 19″ television and turn on the cable and find some cartoons.

The heat comes on. The hot water is in. The fridge and stove are put into place and connected.

I make our very first meal – grilled cheese sandwiches. Exciting, no?

Alyssa decorates the fridge and discovers how nice warm air feels while we clean up.

Ryan shows us that he can sit up unsupported.

We finish painting the rooms. Later in the afternoon Dan remarked that he thought the first paint in Ryan’s room looked good. (It was a green that looked nice on paper but turned out to be really, really nasty when up on four walls!) This was after we re-painted the room in the same very light blue we used for our bedroom. I told him to go ahead and put the green back up. This was the face I got:

Wrapping up a very long day.

We got home around 7. Ate dinner, loaded up the car with misc. things and cleaning supplies, and now I’m going to bed!

Isn’t it just wonderful when things start to come together? :) I can’t wait for them to start getting together here. ;)

Your new house looks awesome. I still think it’s amusing the American houses have heating vents on the floor. Even when I had vent heating the vents were either just above the skirting bored or at the top corner of the room. I suppose having them on the floor makes sense (heat rising and all that…)

Oh, and Alyssa and Ryan are too cute. I know I’ve said that before but they really are.
