Good: the awesomely beautiful washer and dryer that were delivered today:
Bad: the damage done to my kitchen and laundry area floor in the process:

Yes, those are three separate damaged areas!
I have to be at the house tonight for the floor guy to come in and take measurements and make estimates, and then I will be submitting that to the company to take care of ASAP.
Grrr!

Ugh, that’s terrible. Are they going to foot the bill for the repair of the floor? They better!
While I like the Maytag washers and dryers better, that is an awesome set.
I really can’t wait to have a fancy washer and dryer when I move. How lame is that? Hahaha.
Oh hell yes they’re going to foot the bill! To their credit, after wiping the “oh shit!” looks off their faces, they immediately called their supervisor. They also documented everything on paper, which I initialed and signed. I made a copy of that paper, took photos of the floor (as seen above), and got their names.
The one guy told me that the company is awesome and will definitely care of things. If I do not hear from somebody tomorrow morning, I’m going to call them. I took it upon myself to call out the floor guy tonight for a free estimate. See, the sucky part is that that particular print is not around any longer, and because the tile used in the kitchen and into the laundry area and hall is all one vinyl piece, it will have to be replaced. It’s sucky for me because I like the print, and sucky for the company because it’ll cost them a hell of a lot more to replace such a large piece, rather than a small one. But the guys knew that from the get-go, and so does their supervisor.
Up until now I’ve used Whirlpool washers and dryers, and had thought about getting a Whirlpool set. But I fell in love with these, and so here they are.
And no, it’s not lame to be excited over a washer and dryer. ;)
That sucks, but is totally awesome that the guys called there supervisor about it right away! Hopefully they will get it all straightened out quickly and get your floor fixed :D!
That set is so gorgeous. I have a 4 or 5 year old Maytag set that I just absolutely adore. If they weren’t all dusty from my icky basement I would take pictures of them :P. Only thing I can’t stand is front loading washers because I am forgetful and have spent a number of times running like a chicken with my head cut off down to the washer to remove things from my pants pockets, something you can’t do with front loading washers sadly :(.
If they are footing the bill, you should definitely upgrade and get something more durable and easy to take care of like real tile.
I’m so jealous. I would love to have those!
That sucks they messed your floor up. And good they’re replacing it.
I’m glad that they are taking care of it, from your description it sounds like they were okay guys at least, so that’s nice.
Ha. I asked what they said about their little oopsie over at Flickr where I first saw the photos. Now I know!
I’m glad they’re taking care of it. Here’s hoping there’s no future hassle and everything gets replaced soon.
That’s really terrible! You always find movers, etc. are so mucky and screw things up, it just ends up back firing on them anyway so why dont they just try to be careful? Grr! xxx
That washer /dryer set is nice. Sorry to hear they did damage to your floor, but atleats they are willing to fx it.
pst, try to talk them into giving you hardwood ;) its so much nicer =)
The washer/dryer set is really nice. I’m so glad you finally got it. I can’t believe they damaged the floor like that. You’d think they would be more professional than that. I hope you get it all fixed very soon. I bet that is frustrating.
Are there any perks to a front loading washer other than it looks really nice? Cause those do look very nice
It sucks about your floor though, but it sounds like you took all the necessary steps to make sure they’re held accountable and that you don’t get screwed over. People are good at that.
have you used them yet?? I want a new washer/dryer set cause ours is so loud! They should of used a floor board when putting it in there, thats what they do here. Hope it won’t cost too much to fix!
I agree with Chrissy, upgrade at their expense!!
They probably won’t upgrade tot ile for you. Unless you pay the difference. But the plus is you’ll probably get to pick your lino!
Oh, beautious. We just got a brand new Whirlpool set, and it’s so awesome how quiet the new ones are. (Our old one was so loud that we could hardly hear the TV over it. lol.)
I would try to upgrade at their expense as well. I’d say you deserve it for having to go through the hassle at all.
That’s not f’ing cool at all. Uh that could hinder your whole moving in timeline and they could essentially have to pay you for room and board. I love it when people like this screw up it just amazes me that they are so careless with other people’s property!
Ooh those look nice! Poeple need to me careful.
That sucks! Hope they take care of the floor for you.
My aunt purchased a new refrigerator from.. umm.. I think it was Sears, but don’t quote me on that. So, the brought it in and ended up damaging her floor in the process. They said, “Oh, no problem. We’ll take care of that. Someone will call you.” They called, but months and months later, nothing. My aunt ended up having to harass them in order to get her floor fixed, and, even then, they tried to cheap out by replacing just the spots they boobooed. It was linoleum… wtf? So, yeah. If you have to harass, do it! Get your floor fixed, woman.
Did you realize that all your comments have the same time?
Well, since they have to replace the whole floor, demand that you get to look at samples and then pick one that you like =)
Ack. Sorry guys – I fixed the date/time issue. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!
I absolutely LOVE that washer and dryer, I would be so damn excited if they wound up at my house. However, I would be flipping if that damage happened so good luck.
Those are beautiful, even prettier than the stock images I’ve seen. Crappy how they screwed up the floor but at least they’re going to fix it for you.
