Lazy boy

HPIM5084 Ryan is eight and a half months old, and has only recent begun to show signs of being interested in sitting up unsupported. Watching him squirm around halfheartedly this afternoon, I was contemplating creating a trail of cheerios from one part of the house to another in an effort to interest him in exploring, when he sudden began rolling around. He rolled from the living room to the kitchen and back again. A few times he was not only rolling but actually lifting up so he was sort of propped up on his hip and butt. I was impressed! :)

Right now I’m pumping, watching Cops, chatting to Dan and teasing him about updating his blog, and trying to get tired enough to go to sleep. I am most likely going to Philly tomorrow, which means I need to be up at 8am. Ugh.

P.S. How was everyone’s Easter?

WOW. My kids at up at 6 months. He must be a little behind? I hope you’ll have a good Easter!

  2. Yeah, he’s a lazy little thing. Alyssa sat up around 6ish – 7ish months, didn’t crawl but started standing at eight months and was walking at nine. It’s funny how different kids are!

You know what’s funny? Cheerios were only just brought out in Australia. It’s sad. My cats like to eat them.

My Easter was amazing :) How was yours?

Well my developmental psychology teacher says that younger siblings are usually more behind since they have the older one’s that help them out. They feel like “Hey I don’t have to do this if sissy/bubba knows what I want.” different milestones for different babies as well. I don’t think he’s behind give him time he’ll come around. Some kids don’t even show signs of crawling before going straight to walking.

As for Easter, the easter bunny didn’t get my change of address since I’m in a dorm. And me and my friend concluded that he just didn’t want to come to the college since the last time he was here he got beat up..

Have fun in Philly, I here it’s nice there.

  5. Your baby is so cute! I’m sure he must’ve looked so sweet tumbling here and there. How I love babies

He’ll sit up in his own sweet time. Probably just waiting til the very latest moment to really wow ya! :-P

But 8 months to sit up isn’t so bad. My youngest brother only started when he was one, Teresa has something there with the younger children thing. And my cousin took almost years to start talking. Didn’t say a word til he started nursery.

Ryan will get there… but it is pretty interesting to see how different children are, even within a family.

Easter was pretty good – full of family and food, just like other major holidays!

  8. Ryan is such a cutie and eventually he’ll decide the view is better while sitting up, haha.
