Bringing out the big guns

I’m calling the doctor first thing tomorrow morning (yes, Sunday hours do exist!). My approach to colds, viruses and the like is to give it 48 hours, with or without meds. If it hasn’t let up or is getting worse, get seen. And this crap is definitely not letting up. Alyssa is whinier than usual, sleepy, coughing, sneezing, and snotting everywhere. Ryan is sleepy, slightly feverish, coughing, and very, very congested (mostly nasally). I am definitely feverish, congested, and can’t stop coughing. Infant tylenol, infant motrin and infant cough & cold meds aren’t doing anything for them, and the only relief I’ve had so far is taking Nyquil at night to knock me out. Dayquil, Tylenol Cough & Cold and Tussin DM aren’t doing a damn thing for me. Sigh.
To get rid of the congestion in Ryan I’ve been syringing his nose out (which he screams bloody murder over), dosing him with those nose drops, and smearing Vicks all over him every little bit and taking him in the shower with me (steam). This morning it was so bad that I got a bit desperate. I smeared the tub, the walls and Ryan with Vicks, then plopped him in the tub while I showered and we stayed there until the water ran cold.
Ick. I feel like crap. :P

Anyways… moving on! I love all the feedback I’ve gotten from everyone in Calling all Commenters. I’m going to start addressing questions here. :)

How you and dan met?
Dan and I met in July of 2000, while we were both working full-time closing shifts at a Burger King that had just opened. Since we worked the same shifts and in the same area (I started out on specialty board and he manned the fryers and maintained them), we were in close proximity of one another, and it wasn’t long before we started talking to one another. We really got to know one another when he spilled some fryer oil and I made fun of him – before helping him clean up. We exchanged email addresses, then phone numbers. One thing led to another, and when he fought with another co-worker over who had the “right” to take me home, I knew he was mine. I confessed my attraction to him in an email, and we talked things over in person later that evening, and the rest is history. ?

when is your birthday?
June 13th! I’ll be 23 in exactly eighteen days.

I wondered the other day why you weren't considering having another kid in about 5 or so years? After both that you have are in school and what not? I think you had your tubes tied, just wondered why that decision rather than to hold off. How did you know you were done?
We are tentatively considering it – very tentatively. It depends on where we’re at in five or ten years. We definitely wouldn’t have a third child if the ten year mark has come and gone, though. The reason for waiting would be to get more stability, more savings, better income, more education, and a larger home. I had my tubes clipped, which has a higher success rate when reversed. We knew we were done because we couldn’t mentally handle a third child right now!

How about your AIM screen name? Or MySpace link?
AIM: kiss xmyx kitty. MySpace: myspace.com/kiss_my_kitty

do you plan to have any more kids, what are some of your goals in life??
At the moment, no. I have two large goals in mind for myself: lose weight (I’d like to lose 100 lbs.) and obtain more education.

What is your favorite board game?
Life! I never tire of that game.

Perhaps something really simple like your favourite colour, favourite food and favourite place in the world
Color: silver, followed by pink. Food: biscuits, haha. Place: bed!

things like favorite books, authors, movies, etc
Give me a good romance novel and I’m happy as a clam (just how happy are clams?). Authors: none, actually! Movies: too many too name.

what was your childhood dream job?
I wanted to be a teacher. Then I hit fifth grade and saw how terrible kids were and said forget it!

If you could have ANY job, what would it be and why?
I would love to work with rescuing and rehabilitating animals. I realize it is a tiresome and thankless job, but it would feel good to help those who cannot always help themselves.

How do you get ur inspiration for the sites that you create?
Other sites, advertisements, CSS galleries/ideas/templates, songs, etc. You name it, there’s probably something there to inspire me!

Do you like where you live?
I do! It’s quiet, peaceful and beautiful.

What are your life ambitions? Do you ever wish that you had a traditional wedding with Dan?
I want to be happy with myself and my decisions. I’m not quite there yet, but I’m working on it! As far as a wedding, we both wish we would have had the time, money and resources to have a more traditional wedding. We joke about getting “re”-married in another few years and throwing a big wedding for ourselves.

When are you coming to Canada to meet Lisa and me?
Seriously, visiting Canada is on my list of things to do. I might not get to it for another few years, but I will!

How did you get into web design/blogging?
I started blogging after seeing mentions of “journals” on bolt.com in 1998. I made a journal and began writing, and haven’t stopped since! I got into webdesign in 2000ish. I was inspired by fuh-q.com.

Are you planning on any big vacations or travel time when Alyssa and Ryan get older?
We want to do trips to the beach, amusement parks and maybe even camping trips. We want to do other things too, like picnics, swimming, visiting other cities and museums, etc.

Have you ever taken the kids to Disney?
No, and I probably never will. That place makes me cringe. :(

was just curious what your opinion of George Bush is.
I think he is a nitwit who is only looking out for himself and his own interests.

Even though it's a long way off, what's one thing you'd like to do after retirement?
You know, that is so far off I haven’t even thought about it! Anything I can think of are things I’d like to do within the next ten years!

Where is your favorite place in the world?
With my family… and my bed! I don’t get the good sleep that I used to, so I really love the sleep I do get!

What other states have you been to?
Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Ohio. In other words, most of the surrounding states.

Why did you quit blogging and what made you come back?
Silly impulses that I regretted.

What did you dream about last night?
I dreamed that some neighborhood kids vandalized our car and I had to go to their parents and raise hell. Weird, eh?

Ahah! The whole clipped vs whatever else is lost on me because I have no clue, but know most of it can be attempted at reversed anyhow. And I’m thinking could you imagine having 3 babies sick right now? Uh yeah. Spacing=good.

That whole vicks and the tub thing sounds like an approach I’d take.

Wow, that’s a lot of questions.
I wish people had that sort of interest in me.
