Wake me up when it’s autumn

This week has been a rough one. I got an incredibly painful start to my period on Monday, near death experience with the most violent vomiting ever on Tuesday, and have been sick along with the kids from Tuesday on. We went out tonight only because we had to – I promised my dad I’d pick up an AC unit for him, and Target had a killer deal on them, and the sale ended this weekend. Oh, and I needed to get more cough and cold medications, as somehow we ran out of just about everything we had. Oh, wait… three sick people, dosages every four and six hours. It’s no wonder we ran out so quick. :P

Anyway, on the way home I started feeling very feverish, dizzy and faint, and my head felt too heavy to hold up. I guess I wasn’t doing too well with driving (thank goodness for relatively deserted back country roads!), because I got pulled over by a police officer who was concerned with my erratic driving. He believed me when I told him the truth – sick kids, sick Mommy, ran out for meds, trying to get home in one piece. After informing me that my inspection was due (oops!), he offered to follow me back to my house. This was after he volunteered to give us a ride. But I didn’t want the hassle of picking up my car later, and I was only 1/2 of a mile from home, so I was much more open to the offer of him following me back to make sure I made it back. His headlights in my mirrors kept me more “with it”, and the remainder of the drive home was a quick and uneventful one.

Alyssa and Ryan have been in bed for almost two hours now, and I’m waiting for Dan to get home, and then I plan on crashing as well. I can’t wait!!!

Holy crap, I’m glad everything went okay with the cop o: I would have been embarrassed like hell xD But it was really nice of him to offer you a ride home and follow you back :] Especially with the police brutality thing you see on the news all the time lately, I’m glad that there are some people who truly are nice.

    Feel better!

well that was nice of him to offer to drive you home. I think. But yeah hassle and all getting the car later. Being sick sucks, especially these summer colds. I hope you all get better soon.

I guess there’s a few good cops out there still. It was really nice of him to follow you all the way home.

I really hope you and the kids get to feeling better soon :(

That was a very nice officer! I hope you and your children are feeling better today. Being sick with kids is absolutely awful! We just had our turn.

  6. I’m glad the officer was nice enough to understand and to offer you a ride home! Thank goodness he let you drive home, otherwise, that would have been a hassle!

I hope your family starts feeling much better soon! I hate being sick and I cannot imagine being that sick and having to take care of Ethan.. let alone 2 children. :)
