Growing up, I dreamed of being a teacher. Then I hit fifth grade and saw what little pricks kids were capable of being, and said screw that, and turned my sights toward another passion: animal care.
I’m all “grown up” now, but I still can’t help but wonder what kind of difference I could make working with animals. I specifically would want to work with a humane league or other non-profit agency that helps animals.
One of my big pet peeves is people who don’t provide basic pet care for their animals. Going on vacation? You don’t lock your dog up in a room with what you think will be enough food and water. You board him. Want a long-haired cat? Fine, but be prepared to keep up with grooming, or you’ll have a matted mess. Don’t toss a dog on the streets or to a shelter because he’s unruly – check out dog training!
And then there’s the basics: provide food, water, shelter, vaccinations. Love your pet(s)!
What did you dream of being when you were growing up?
When I was growing up I dreamed of being a movie star, but, that dream obviously didn’t go anywhere. When I hit 13 I released that the pop. is evil, lol, I didn’t want that to be a part of my life.
