I went into my first time armed with knowledge gleamed from teachers, books and websites and fictional experiences written in romance novels. Needless to say, my first time wasn’t anything like what the romance novels go on about. There were no sighs, exclamations of passion and earth shattering, mind numbing orgasms. Instead there were awkward glances, shyness, giggling and a bit of fumbling. 
The only exclamation was both of us saying something along the lines of, “oh my god!”. There wasn’t much blood, and I didn’t feel like I had been impaled by a flag pole. Discomfort? Yes. Pain? Very minor, and it was over almost as soon as it began. And whimpers? Oh, they happened, but they weren’t whimpers of pain! And orgasms? Those didn’t come until later!
Ah, romance novels… how I love thee. I bought thirty-two of them secondhand for $20. Actually, the cost was $15, but I didn’t have any bills smaller than a $20, and the woman I bought the books from didn’t have any cash at all. Oh well. $20 for thirty-two romance novels is still quite a bargain. 
I met Danielle today! She and her husband were in Pennsylvania for a few days, so she emailed me to find out if I would like to meet up. Of course I would! So Alyssa and I (Ryan was on the grumpy side today, so I asked my mom to babysit him) met Danielle and her husband Matt for lunch. Matt reminds me a lot of Dan. And Danielle and Matt make such a cute couple! 
We had a great time, and Alyssa was wonderful. I invited Danielle and Matt to Ryan’s first birthday party (July 26th!), and I really hope they can make it. 
My first time was at the drive thru of macdonalds.
