I just got back from every parent’s idea of hell on earth. The place where the sound of beeps, whirls, bells and shrieking children, the sight of bright red, blue, green, yellow and purple used in everything, and the smell of plastic, pizza and kid sweat is enough to set any parent’s nerves on edge. I hate Chuck E. Cheese, and I don’t know how my mother stood it when I was a child. Oh wait, I do know. She told me today – she mentally prepared herself ahead of time, made sure to get a good night’s sleep the night before, and took some aspirin before going.
But it wasn’t too bad today. I guess Wednesday afternoons are a good day to go. In addition to Alyssa, my brothers and our step/half/whatever brother, there were another six or seven kids. It was great. We had a table that gave us a clear view of all of the games and activities, and tied balloons to Alyssa and M’s wrists so we could see where they were, even if we couldn’t see them due to games and all in the way. We were there for about three hours. Alyssa had a blast. I played a lot of games with her, and our personal favorite that we both did really good at was skee ball.
I have a headache. I’m tired. And I’m crampy and bleeding and those two things combined put me in a crappy mood.
And I’m bored. And on a whim I decided to take a picture of the contents of my purse. Enjoy – and why not do the same and then blog about it? I love seeing what people keep in their purses!

Oh I tried to go to Chuck E Cheese’s a few month’s ago but it was hell on earth…. I just love the pizza.
I would do a purse blog but I half ass carry one and keep my wallet and stuff in my backpack for school lol
You fit a whole bunch in that little bag.
I have been wanting to take the kid to Chuck E Cheese, but I’m not sure I’m mentally prepared enough.
we spent so much time in Chuck E Cheese the year my sister was pregnant with one of my nieces that my sister always jokes and says Chucky is my nieces daddy.
I took AJ to Chuck E Cheese last year, and there were so many bratty kids there who were being asses to AJ… and their parents either weren’t paying attention or sat there and did nothing. FUCKERS! I do wanna take him again though, since he loved it there… and I know not all kids are brats and their parents actually give a shit when their child acts like a brat.
Nice blog! It’s so pretty in here, and you’re a brave girl showing the contents of your purse. I’m not so brave, and I don’t know if I could fit the big wad of junk I pack around in the picture so you could see it all anyway.
But on another note, you’ve been tagged! Here’s the post you’re tagged with…
I don’t understand why you’d need to mentally prepare yourself for a day out with your child. That should be something you’d enjoy WITH them together. As a mother, I love going out with my child and seeing the smile on her face when she says “Mommy, come play this game with me.” If you need to be mentally prepared to have fun with your child, regardless of the brats surrounding you, then you’re probably not mentally prepared to be a mother.
The place where the sound of beeps, whirls, bells and shrieking children, the sight of bright red, blue, green, yellow and purple used in everything, and the smell of plastic, pizza and kid sweat is enough to set any parent’s nerves on edge. I hate Chuck E. Cheese
Where in there am I mentioning that I have to prepare myself to spend a day with my daughter? I blogged about having to mentally prepare myself for the assault on my senses, thanks to the noise, smell and obnoxious lights at Chuck E. Cheese.
Please don’t twist my words, or insinuate things that aren’t true.
Looks like you (and Alyssa!) had a great time!
Btw, not sure if you’re noticed but kitty.nu is blog of the day @ PPP ;-) Congrats
Omfg people are retards. A lot of the times I disagree with things you say on here..but I dont just pick out crap to focus on like “omgz you dont like chuck e cheese…YOU MUST NOT LIKE SPENDING TIME WITH ALYSSA.” Thats just..retarded. Im not a parent, but I would imagine a lot of “kid” things arent fun. Like watching repetitive shows over and over again, etc..but you do them..BECAUSE you love spending time with your kid.
People are teh lame.
Thats such a good idea about the contents of your purse!!! Im gonna do it now, hahahaha.
(im hoping my gravatar will work this time…) :happycry:
The smell of plastic and pizza doesn’t sound too bad alone, but anything mixed with sweat, well, maybe not. :S I’d show the contents of my purse on my blog, too, if it isn’t so empty and boring.
I think most parents cannot tolerate Chuck E. Cheese. I remember my brother and I used to beg my parents to take us there when we were younger. Since they hated that place as much as you, they used to tell us that Chuck E. Cheese was closed on whatever night we asked to go because they were hosting a high school dance. It worked everytime until we both noticed that Chuck E. Cheese had a LOT of high school dances.
hey my name is nadine ;-) i’ve read your blog for a few weeks now but never commented until now. i got a new website a few days ago, after beeing blog-abstinent for quiet a long time. i just wanted to let you know that i linked your blog on my site =)
I love chucky cheese, I havent been there ever since I was a little girl. I am still a kid at heart, so I cant wait to bring my nephew! Congrats for being blog of the day at PPP!
We haven’t been to the Chuck E. Cheese we got a few months ago. My brother, apparently, heard from his little friends that it really sucked. ^^,,
And, Ranee, if you think that’s a lot in her bag, you should see what I got in mine. XD
Annais, more likely you’re looking for something that isn’t there, just to have something to criticize.
we had “Showbiz” when I was a kid way back in the 80′s. I remember taking my step-sons to chuck-e-hell, the guy in the rat suit still creeps me out.

Just incase you missed it when I first put it out there. =)

As the domain name suggests, my name is Jenn, and I own this blog. I'm 26 years old and married to my one true ♥, Daniel. And while I have two kids (Alyssa is five, and Ryan is three), you won't find "mommy" in my username or email address, nor does my blog revolve around them. I'm a mother, but most importantly I am me, with a passion for love, blogging, reading, and photography. I'm also a busy freelance writer, web designer & SEO goddess.

We did the Chuck E Cheese thing a few months ago. Ugh. It was pretty busy though – Sunday afternoon and a few birthday parties going on. Taylor enjoyed herself, but she wasn’t too sure of the stage show. haha
I’ll have to do a ‘what’s in my purse’ post!
