Alyssa has Dan’s old cell phone and is running around and having conversations on it. “Hewwo? You there? Okay, bye!” I just finished printing out this week’s shopping list. If nothing else, the alli plan will certainly take a nice chunk out of my wallet! But it is good to eat healthy, and to cook my family healthy meals. Now it’s just a matter of hoping everybody likes what I will be cooking. I know I will. I know Ryan will, as he’ll eat anything that looks at least partially edible and isn’t nailed down. But Dan? He is picky, picky, picky. This is a man that doesn’t like macaroni and cheese. Or lasagna. Or Chinese food. Or Taco Bell. And he still doesn’t really like spaghetti. And Alyssa? She takes after Dan, both in grumpiness and fussiness, and with being picky. I definitely have my work cut out for me.
While I’m on the subject of my shopping list… Halibut fillet? Vegetable juice cocktail? Walnuts? Wheat bagels? Sugar substitute and liquid egg substitute? I have never purchased any of these. Furthermore, I have never heard of a few of the items on the list. At this rate, with all of the low fat, fat free, substitute this, partial that, wheat, whole grain, oat, yadda yadda yadda, I should just eat cardboard and styrofoam. Same great filling, little to no taste like a lot of the stuff on my shopping list, but much cheaper! And it keeps longer!
Alyssa just drew a few smiley faces. I added a rather bloated and sickly looking cow, and Dan also drew a cow that looks more like a daschund than a walking, mooing side of beef. But Alyssa adores our cows. And I adore her smiley faces… even if they do bear striking resemblance to the Zoloft smiley faces.
Lastly, I am selling my Nikon D40 camera body on eBay. I want to use the money from the sale of the D40 body to buy the D40x body.

OMG I didn’t read the whole last part, where you were selling your Nikon, until I read the rest. LOL
whats the difference between a d40 and a d40x ?
Seriously, carboard or Styrofoam + ketchup = healthy. hahah. and tastes better than just cardboard or styrofoam…
Man, that camera is so tempting. I would totally bid if I could afford spending the money, but i’m saving for a new desktop considering my previous one fried in a roof leak
Vegetable juice cocktail would be like V8
Good luck with using Alli!
Debbie – the difference is megapixels. The D40 has 6.1 megapixels, while the D40x has 10.
Sarah – I’m so sorry to hear about your computer. I would cry. Seriously.
And yes, ketchup makes anything better!
I love Alyssa’s pictures.. she may just turn out to be a photographer
And your shopping list– yummmmmm! That is the kind of foods I already purchase for my family. I guess I could do this Alli thing pretty easily, eh? Good luck shopping and getting everyone to eat it!
James is just as picky as Dan sounds…but it’s with other things. He won’t eat anything that sits too close to a mayo or mustard jar (ok, a lil exaggerated ;) ), but there are a lot of foods that I love that he thinks are gross…
Doesn’t it suck that healthy foods are so expensive?? We’ve gone from spending $60 to over $100 on weekly groceries, just because we’ve been adding more healthy stuff, or buying the low fat/fat free version of something we were already buying before…
. . . That alli diet better work because “liquid egg substitute” sounds absefricken nasty :o
At work, a tiny bowl of “salad” (read: dyed leaves) costs at least three dollars. It sucks that healthy food is so expensive! Have you tried growing some of your own food? :3 My parents plant tomatoes in our yard so we rarely have to buy them.
I personally think that cardboard and soy sauce would be an awesome combo . . .
Good luck picking out the food!
Believe me, eating healthy is expensive, but worth it. And you’ll get used to the odd things on your grocery list. I did. Although I have to say, I’ve never eaten so many cucumbers in my life.
