And now for something a little different.
I thought I’d share my favorite Firefox extensions. I have close to twenty Firefox extensions altogether, but the following ones are my favorites. Feel free to mention yours in the comments!
Always Remember Password
Some sites, such as my bank and Yahoo! Mail, disable password remembering by the browser. Always Remember Password forces the browser to retain the login information, and automatically load it when the site is loaded.
Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer
Foxmarks is an extension that automatically synchronizes your bookmarks to a separate server automatically (I’m not quite sure how often “automatically” happens), and also during every shutdown of your browser. You won’t have to deal with any more cases of Firefox eating your bookmarks, since Foxmarks then connects to the server upon every start up of Firefox to synchronize once again. This extension is also great if you have two or more computers and would like to have the your bookmarks on all of them!
Greasemonkey
Greasemonkey is a spiffy little extension that enables other Greasemonkey “exclusive” mini-extension to work. For instance, I have two Greasemonkey extensions installed: Flickr Add Referrer into Comments and Flickr BBCode Generator. Flickr Add Referrer into Comments adds a small link in any comments you make to Flickr photos, the link being your “referrer” – how you got to the photo you’re commenting on. Flickr BBCode Generator automatically generates BBCode for any photo you view under the “All sizes” option. I found this extension after looking for a way to convert Flickr’s HTML to BBCode for ease of posting photos at Lavish.
Linkification
This neat extension turns any text link – such as http://www.jenn.nu or x@jenn.nu – into a clickable link. Great for people like me who are too lazy to copy and paste into a new tab!
Save as Image
Save as Image is the Holy Grail of the print screen function. Unlike the print screen function, which takes a snapshot of what is being displayed on your desktop – Save as Image takes a screenshot of all of the contents of your current tab, including page areas that are normally viewed only when you scroll down. It then prompts you to save it, which eliminates the hassle of opening up a graphics program to paste into. Also during the save, you can drag the borders of the screenshot around to crop.
Submit to Tab
Submit to Tab allows you to middle click on form buttons to submit those contents to a new tab. This is handy if you’d like to stay at the current page, or if you have multiple forms to submit and don’t want to waste your time filling out the same forms over and over.
Now that I have taken the time to give my unbiased and based-on-personal-experience reviews, I think I’m going to go take a nap. I have not been getting good sleep lately! Dan and I both stay up way too late, and then when we do settle down for the night, we wind up spending at least another hour in bed having sex/fucking/making love (depending on the mood ;) ), before falling asleep. Last night (or should I say this morning?) was no exception. And while I love and take shameful advantage of the fact that we lust after one another like there’s no tomorrow after seven years of being together and knowing one another very intimately, I do miss getting a full eight hours of sleep. Or even seven hours. Hell, right now I’d be happy with six! So, yes, nap time for Jenn.

Thanks for the links. I’m going to install the Always Remember Password and the Linkification.
Thank you sooo much for pointing me in the direction of linkification! It bugs the hell out of me when people don’t properly hyperlink links (wow, super redundant). This plugin will definitely save me from a lot of copying & pasting….
Wow, neat stuff! You always find the neatest things!
