Was jenn.nu really down for almost a week? Sorry guys. I just couldn’t make up my mind as to what I wanted. And when my mind was made up, I was busy with Alyssa, Ryan, family, sleep (gotta fit that in somewhere!), or going out. I saw my grandfather several times last week (by the way, he is doing REALLY well!), had my family over for dinner one night (and tried out a GE griddle that really sucks – half heated pancakes? I don’t think so!), went to the movies and out to eat twice (hi Jason!), and in general living my life, instead of sitting on my butt and blogging about it. Not that sitting on my butt and blogging isn’t fun… but, you know… sometimes it’s better to participate than to simply observe.
So, it’s Sunday. We’re devoid of any real spending money, and it bites. I haven’t had any writing assignments in the last two weeks, and our bank account is really taking a hit from the lack of extra cash. But, I have been using a few other domains for PPP, so while it isn’t a large lump sum of money at one time, the bits that trickle in each day are nice.
Have I mentioned that I am going through some serious camera withdrawal? Well, I am! And my neglected Flickr account is the proof of that. Ritz Camera has a really good deal on the Nikon D40x kit. It is less than $100 more than the camera itself, and I can turn around and sell the two lenses and camera bag that come with it, and come out ahead. So, I’m probably going to go ahead and order it later this week or early next, depending on what kind of writing assignments come my way.
You see Kirin there? See how he’s practically velcroed to my arm? That’s how he has been acting for the last week or two. It’s really weird, considering that before he couldn’t have cared less about me. I would get a bored, disdainful look flicked in my general direction (if I was lucky enough to be graced with any kind of look), and that would be about it. Now? He’s everywhere I am. Right now, for instance, he is in the chair next to my desk. When I go to bed, he’s under the covers with me, or sprawled out on top of me. In the morning, I trip all over him when I go to the bathroom. When I’m cooking or doing dishes? He’s on the counter or on top of the microwave, watching me intently.
I feel kind of bad, because Kirin is Dan’s cat, but at the same time, what am I supposed to do? Ignore him? I think not.
Alyssa’s third birthday is four weeks away! I already feel the pre-party panic setting in. Do we have enough space for everyone? Will we have enough food? What kind of food to make?! Ryan’s birthday was easy that way – we tossed hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill and boiled corn on the cob, and added in pasta salad and some snacks. Unfortunately, that easy way of making party food won’t work for a late October birthday. It looks like I’ll have to actually *gasp* cook!
Anyway, Dan, Ryan and myself are heading to my mother’s soon. Alyssa stayed there last night, and we have some things we’re all going to do together tonight. Later!
P.S. It isn’t too late to go Pink for October!

It was worth the wait. The theme looks lovely. I’ve gone Pink For October too.
I have Jak on my lap at the moment. He’s out constantly now but when he comes in the only place he wants to be is on my lap. I feel bad because I have things to do so I have to push him off but its nice that he loves me :).
Glad to see that your site is finally up – I was anxiously awaiting it all week (and impatiently checking all too often, haha). Glad you’ve had some time away from blogging though, that is always nice.
glad you’re back and looking good :)!!!
My guess was. “She’s having trouble with her WordPress Upgrade, just like everyone else is…“. Apparently, during the upgrade, it’s screwed up databases? I’m holding off on the upgrade for just a bit longer. But, I love what I see here. I’ve been checking pretty consistantly.
Lissy is almost 3 already? Goodness! Where did time go?
Oh yes. I know how it is to have your cut up your bum. We just brought home two kittens last month. It’s cute and everything.
But, not when you’re working, and they start stepping all over the laptop keyboard, and interfering with your work. I’ve lost a layout, thanks to those critters.
I have also gone “Pink for October”. I have seen so many websites turn pink already it is great to bring awareness to Breast Cancer. It is the most common cancer among women in Canada.
I never realized how often I actually visit your website. This whole week I must have visited at least four times a day. I swear I am not a stalker, you realize how often you visit it until it is down.
This is such a simple theme, I really like it. It is so easy on the eyes. I have a few other Pink themes I am thinking of switching to, it is just that I cannot seem to figure out some sidebar issues, or I try and and make my own with bits and pieces of parts that I like it hardly works out the way it looks in my head.
Your cat is adorable, there is nothing wrong with giving your cat some love. I am currently cat sitting my boyfriends mom’s two cats and they are awesome. I have the “kitten bug” and I am currently searching online at the local adoption shelters and organizations at their kittens.
I LOVE THE NEW THEME!
I’m glad Jenn.nu is finally back! I agree with Aidan…I checked on it a lot this past week! Hopefully you’ll get some more assignments soon. IamKecia.com finally got accepted @ PPP, so now I can make a little more extra spending money. Btw, I have gone pink for October as well!!
I am so glad to see your site back up and running! Sounds like you’ve been busy!! The new theme is adorable.. Love it!
I love this theme! It’s so.. clean. And simple.
I wish I knew more about designing my own themes, but I’m new to the whole website/Wordpress/etc scene so I don’t know much.
However, I have gone Pink for October as well.
Wow, I’m famous now. My name was mentioned on an extremely popular internet site. ;P I like the new theme it is extremely simple and not too “busy” as some other sites are.
