Octoberversary

“Happy Octoberversary!” is what I gleefully shouted at Dan at the stroke of midnight on October 1st. For several years we have been doing this silly thing where we like to be the first to tell the other “Happy [Month]!” on the first of that particular month. Dan has been pwning my ass with this for the last year, with the exception of August. But every other month? He got me. He would avoid answering the phone at midnight – even having someone else answer it, or he would try to get me by proxy (my mom, lol). Well, I got him for October. We were at my mom’s, and I was on her laptop, working on PPP, while he was totally absorbed with playing Guitar Hero. At 11:59pm I acted like I was busy typing, though in reality I was just hitting random keys while the desktop was locked. As soon as the clock rolled to midnight I shouted, “Happy October!!! Happy Anniversary!!! Happy Octoberversary!” and then proceeded to jump and dance and laugh at his obvious disappointment at not “getting” me for October. Of course, Dan does get an honorable mention for the adorable cake he baked and decorated. ♥

Our third wedding anniversary was pretty quiet. Dan and I had originally planned to celebrate our anniversary by going out to dinner at Olive Garden, and then going bowling. However, my mom wasn’t feeling too well, and wasn’t able to watch Alyssa and Ryan as originally planned. So instead, my dad watched Alyssa for us yesterday evening while Dan, Ryan and I went to dinner at Friendlys. It’s no Olive Garden, but nevertheless, dinner was delicious. We’ll have to do bowling another time.

I’m tired today. I went to bed around 5am this morning, and would have had a nice seven hours of sleep (I love it when Ryan decides to sleep in, rather than pop up at 9:30am!), except that the phone started ringing at 9:00am this morning. I tolerated the seemingly seven minute apart phone calls until 9:42am. At that point I turned the phone on, left it on and buried it under a spare pillow so that annoying off-the-hook sound wouldn’t get on my nerves and keep me awake. I then slept blissfully until noon. :)

Alyssa is at my mom’s, having the time of her life being the center of attention since both of my brothers are at school. We didn’t pick her up last night because Ryan was acting kind of whiny after dinner, and looked pale and “eh”, so we went right home. I can’t even go and pick her up until this evening, because Dan lost his keys last week, and rather than carefully look for them, he scrambled around a bit last night before going to bed, and gave up, after telling me he would be taking my keys today. I wish he would have just taken the Hyundai’s keys off of my keyring, rather than take everything – including the keys to my car. So, I’m stuck without keys. Pfft.

In a way it’s nice being stuck at home with Ryan all to myself. Or rather, Ryan having me all to himself. He has been plastered against me since we got up, and we’re both enjoying an afternoon of laziness (have I mentioned that we’re both still in our pajamas?)!

That every month thing you two have going is so funny! You guys are too cute!! I do envy you though, since I haven’t had a pajama day in a really long time. I just keep thinking that 12 days from now will be my first full day on my honeymoon, where I plan to relax and do anything I want (and maybe a lil of what James wants :) ) for an entire week! It will be so nice to not have to answer the phone, door, or any other distraction…

I was in my PJ’s until I decided to roll out of bed at 5pm, and take a shower. lol. I was awake at 11, but layed in bed, until 5. Gotta love lazy days.

  7. That’s so cute with the whole monthversary thing. Haha. I try to say it every month but it’s not a big deal otherwise. PJs are the way to go. Right after I get home from work I’m BACK in pjs from work clothes just because they’re so freakin’ comfy.

I’m glad you guys had a good time despite the circumstances, heh. You guys are so cute.. I can’t wait to be able to post goofy stories again, but lately I don’t talk about Jeremiah on my blog ’cause all we do is argue, lol. Anyways, can’t wait until you get your camera situation worked out.. I’m feeling withdrawal symptoms. Maybe those withdrawals are from sex.. eh.. nah, definitely Jenn picture withdrawals.
