When it came to potty training Alyssa, we got really lucky. The whole process was a breeze, considering that she pretty much potty trained herself! Last January we bought one of those toilet ring inserts. You know the ones – they fit inside the regular toilet seat so that little kids won’t fall in when they sit on the toilet. Anyway, from January until May we sat her on the potty once a day to see what would happen. Funnily enough, nothing. In May, we started putting her on the toilet several times a day. She started to do really well, but then she and I got very sick with colds and stomach bugs. Then we were very busy over the summer, and potty training was put on the back burner.
Then, at the end of August, I asked Alyssa if she would like to go potty. She said yes. We sat her on the potty, and after that it was just a matter of days before she was 100% potty trained – night time potty training included!
