Guess what guess what guess what! Jenn is in the hospital right now and is well on her way to having her baby! She called me earlier tonight, and has been keeping Lavish updated on her progress. It’s not even my baby, obviously, but I’m very excited for her.
She bought my old breast pump from me (the one I used for Alyssa), and I sent her some cloth diapers and a few Classic Pooh related items for her to enjoy with Matthew. ♥
Thinking about Jenn being in the hospital reminded me of my time in the hospital, with Alyssa and with Ryan. Is it common for hospitals to offer free massages? I was offered one after I had Alyssa, but we left the hospital before I could get it. After I had Ryan, I was offered a massage several different times. However, I turned down the woman each time. I was very tired, very achy, and very, very sore. I just had major abdominal surgery and couldn’t get out of bed without assistance or roll over without gasping in pain, and I was going to let some other person maul and paw at me? Not to mention that once Ryan successfully latched on, he was nursing just about 24/7, and I was not about to break him off and potentially damage the fragile beginning of our breastfeeding relationship.
What’s odd is the woman seemed to take my “rejection” of a massage personally. She was pissed! But then again, so was I, when she showed up two mornings in a row at 7am and 9am, and several other times when I would be half asleep or busy nursing Ryan. She was not happy to take no for an answer, and actually argued with me several times. I finally told her to get out or I would call security. Thankfully, she left me alone after that!
So that was my experience with the massage people at the hospital!

I’m so happy and excited today too! I was practically bouncing around work today texting jenn the entire time
it was funnn
So looking forward to tomorrow
Her little boy and my James will have the same birthday. tehehe
Maybe they found that a lot of women like to have massages while in labour pain…? I don’t know… You’d think they’d learn how to take no for an answer though.
I keep checking Lavish…just in case Jenn (or someone who’s heard from her) posts anything! I’ve never heard of free massages at the hospital, but that would creep me out if the women continued to ask/insist/argue…
Wow I never heard about massages at a hospital. To me that’s kind of weird. I’m not really comfortable with massages either so I can completely understand where you’re coming from.
I’m excited for Jenn too. I keep checking Lavish to see if anyone else has posted about it.
How exciting for Jenn!
I received massages during my labor and afterwards, which were nice. But I am pretty sure that had I had a c-section I would’ve refused one too… they look awful painful!
Haha for a moment I thought you were talking in third person, and I was like, “SHE’S HAVING A KID AND DIDN’T TELL US?!”
Hmm massages in hospitals? Never really heard of that before. That’s odd she got all butt-hurt about your no, but some people take rejection WAY to hard when it comes to their job. I’ve had my experience of that!

As the domain name suggests, my name is Jenn, and I own this blog. I'm 26 years old and married to my one true ♥, Daniel. And while I have two kids (Alyssa is five, and Ryan is three), you won't find "mommy" in my username or email address, nor does my blog revolve around them. I'm a mother, but most importantly I am me, with a passion for love, blogging, reading, and photography. I'm also a busy freelance writer, web designer & SEO goddess, and a blogger relations person for an adult toy company.
