It’s over, thank god

I’m back. I’m fuzzy, woozy, sleepy, bleeding and drooling, still numb, and going to bed.

I hope everything went well. Get some rest. You’ll feel fine in a few days.

Oh…I know how that feels…I had my wisdoms out but I bounced back so fast you never would have guessed I had them out. I hope that your recovery goes smoothly!

  3. Ouchies! I feel so bad for you, I can only imagine your pain. I hope you feel better soon!

They prescribed you Vicodin? Generally you are given a very strong Ibprofen, Tylenol #3, or Percocet (known as Hydracodone). Hopefully, they sent you home with a prescription for Amoxicillin (antibiotics) take alongside that pain medication or the pain medication is not going to work effectively. If you haven’t already, go to Publix to get that Amoxicillin filled. Since this summer, Publix has been honoring all antibiotic prescriptions for free.

never mind.. long day… Vicodin is the Brand name and of which Hydrocodone would be the Generic name. Shit… they must think you are going to be in a lot of pain if they gave you that. That is some strong shit. I usually am given the Tylenol #3, but I have somewhat of an idea that I might be allergic to Codeine which is in that one. I did get the “itchies” but I was in so much pain after having a crown prep done that I just shrugged the minor allergic reaction off and continued with the medication. Or for all I know you might be allergic to Codeine so was rx’d the stronger stuff. For patients that have that allergic reaction, we usually rx them Ultram. For my own wisdom teeth extractions (all 4 were removed), I was just rx’d a very very strong Ibrophen that I still to this day have a few left over when and if I am in experiencing a lot of pain that any ordinary OTC medication will not resolve. Again, wishing you a speedy recovery

  7. Ick, I hope some rest makes things a bit better. At least it’s all said and done though.

I saw your twitter, don’t worry about the minor pain. It’s uncomfortable, but it’ll be gone within a half hour of taking the meds. I had all four impacted wisdom teeth taken out at the end of July so this is all fresh in my mind. Ice every 20 minutes for the first 36 hours. It helps a lot with the pain and swelling. I had a complication with mixing my birthcontrol with my swelling meds and the pain pills and wound up throwing up and not being able to take meds for 18 hole hours. If I can do it, you can do it. I am the world’s biggest baby when it comes to pain. By the third or fourth day you should be feeling much better. I was able to eat very soft foods by 7 days in and everything by 14 days in. Stay away from ketchup and spaghetti sauce. They burn like hell. Sleep helps wonders. Sleep = absolutely no pain. Try sleeping at at least a 45 degree angle. I found that to be most comfortable. Oh! One more thing, don’t forget! No straws or sucking anything! It’ll pull the clots out. I hope you feel better soon :]
