Just one C battery stands between us and a fun game of Elefun. I turned this house upside down in search of just one C battery, and even pulled apart the few battery operated toys and gizmos we have lying around. But no luck. I found AA batteries, AAA batteries, D batteries and nine volt batteries, but not one solitary C battery. I’m going to be picking Dan up from work tonight, so on our way home we’ll stop at Wawa or Turkey Hill for a pack of batteries.
God. My hunt for a battery reminds me of my mom spending $40 on batteries for every Christmas, to make sure we had plenty on hand to load into toys for my brothers. Speaking of which, I’m not really a big fan of battery operated toys. And those V-Smile things? Forget it. Kids need toys that stir their imagination and encourage pretend play. Toys like VSmile do all of the playing for them.
Anyway. Our Christmas was very long (seriously – Dan and the kids went home at 2:30am, and I stayed at my mom’s to deal with some drama regarding my grandfather and didn’t come dragging in until almost 5:30am!), but it was very nice. The kids received a lot of nice gifts and had a blast, and we had a wonderful day visiting with Dan’s family and mine. ♥
Our Christmas tree looks so lonely and forlorn without dozens of presents shoved beneath it and piled up around it (see before and after). Dan and I are going to take some photos of ourselves in front of it, and then get everything teared down and put away by next weekend. We usually buy our trees and decorate by the fifteenth of December, and then put everything away and toss the tree out by the 30th. Two weeks of Christmas decorations is more than enough for us!

Glad to hear your Christmas went well. :D
I loath batteries. I especially hate when I think I have a package of AA batteries in my house and I. Cant. Find. Them. So we buy some more, then I find the other pack. Only to realize that I need AAA batteries instead.
I’m glad to hear you had a good Christmas.
Glad you had a good Christmas!
I normally keep the Christmas decor up well past New Years, but this year… I’m over it!
ooo Turkey Hill?! Get me some eggnog whilst your at it. xD
I was working christmas day and we sold about £200 worth of batteries, everyone obviously forgot about them!! Glad you had a good day.
I’m lucky, I get a great deal on batteries from work lol. We go through AA’s like crazy!
