I ordered a hamburger (okay, I ordered this incredibly tasty sandwich) from Wendy’s on Wednesday evening. Not something to normally go shouting from the rooftops about… except that, hey, Jenn can eat solid food again! The sockets where my wisdom teeth were are very tender, especially the bottom ones, and super especially the bottom right one, but if I chew slow, and don’t chew for a long period of time, I can work my way through things like tasty Wendy’s burgers without too much trouble. Geez, it only took two weeks of working my way from tiny sips of water (afternoon after the surgery) to applesauce (first two days after surgery) to soup (weekend after surgery) to Stouffer’s macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes and soft stews, to a soft chocolate chip pie that I had to pick the walnuts out of (last Sunday evening at Dan’s uncle’s house) to finally a yummy burger from Wendy’s. Meat is nice.
Thank goodness for healing! It’s nice to be able to talk normally and yawn without pain, and lay on my side and kiss Dan and open my mouth the entire way. Thank God wisdom tooth removal is only a one-time thing (provided you get all four yanked out at once!). Now I just hope the sudden temperature sensitivity I’m experiencing will go away. The throbbing pain from the sockets whenever I drink anything that is cooler than luke-warm is getting old, and getting old fast!
Why am I blogging at 5am? Ugh. Yesterday morning (Thursday) I woke up with that awful stomach bug I had two weeks ago. Not a pleasant way to start the day, especially when you’re already tired from being up way too late with your husband (this is where, I kid you not, Dan is wanting me to get all glow-y and post about his awesome multiple-orgasm-inducing sexual prowess and talented hands and mouth – there Dan, is that good enough for you? ). Dan took Ryan and did a few errands, and I divided my time between laying in bed wanting to die and going through the oh-so-fun motions associated with a stomach bug in the bathroom, while Alyssa was sweet enough to play quietly with Play-Doh and Elefun and watch cartoons on the television in our bedroom. Once all the icky-ness died down, I pretty much stayed in bed until 8pm last night, alternating between sleeping and watching television with Dan, and just being exhausted from everything.
Yeah… so those several hours of doing pretty much NOTHING are keeping me going now. Though I am starting to get a little sleepy. Yawn. Goodnight, I think.
P.S. My nails are too long for typing on flat laptop keyboards. The sound and especially feel of the constant clacking of them against the keys is driving me nuts!!!

Join the club..I’m crawling to bed in a few minutes too. Gnight!
*rawr*
I had a bad stomach bug last Friday. I went to work, which was a big mistake, and suffered all day from this horrible pain in my lower belly. Then about 9PM all the food I WAS NEVER ABLE TO EAT started coming up. I hate when your body decides it’s time to vomit but there is nothing IN THERE to come up. I started taking little sips of water just so that something would come up and hoping that would appease the belly some…
That lasted till about 1AM. Every 15-20 minutes I’d be running. It was a not so pleasant start to a four day weekend and I was EXHAUSTED so I slept till after noon on Saturday, then was up till almost 3AM Sunday morning because of it and that completely threw off my body clock. It’s just now getting back on track and I have another four day weekend to mess it all up again, minus the belly drama!
Ugh, I hope that you’re feeling a bit better now with the stomach bug. Bah. :-\ Glad to know the healing for your wisdom teeth is headed in that positive direction.
