Not dead yet!

So it looks like my plans of joining Blog 365 are blown all to hell. Or perhaps not. I had mental blog ideas in mind, and some random ideas jotted down in Notepad files… does that count? It should! Maybe I’ll go back and add those random jotted down ideas in on the dates and at the times I wrote them at. ;)

I’ve been a very busy girl for the past four days. Because I don’t feel like writing a lot tonight (sorry, tired), I’ll let photos take care of some of the explanations. :)

Friday – Saturday: laundry, and lots of it! I turned my back on the laundry baskets for two days and the clothes multiplied. Sigh.

Friday – Sunday morning: installing and configuring Mac OS X Leopard on my laptop. To say it has taking some getting used to is an understatement. Right now I need to work on the following issues, ASAP:

Sunday morning I woke up wanting to die. Seriously. The period from hell. I felt like I was giving birth. I had actual CONTRACTIONS that I had to BREATHE through. It was SO painful. I was in constant, severe, mind numbing, body crumpling pain until Sunday evening. Major suckage. (Note to self: never EVER think about having kids again.)

Sunday evening my mom, brothers, their friend and J (a friend of ours) came over for my youngest brother’s birthday party. He turned ten on December 29th. (We celebrate his birthday about a week or so after the date to give everyone time to wind down from Christmas)

Sunday night: Dan, our friend J and I watched movies and then played Guitar Hero 3. We also had some Arbor Mist and strawberry daiquiris with coconut rum (SO good, I love the “sunscreen” drinks!), and Dan and J had whiskey shots. J left around 2am — or was it 3am? — and Dan and I weaved our way to the bedroom, somehow managing to have sex before zonking out until Monday morning. Heh.

Today the temperatures were well above 60 degrees, so the kids and I played outside and went for a long walk beyond our house and around some nearby farms. It was nice. :)

So… that’s all that’s really happening in the life of Jenn!

Not too sure what you mean by your tabbing and iTunes problem, but I think I can help you out with the rest.

For FireFox, to open a new window in a tab, simply press the LEFT Apple Key while you click on the link itself, and it will open it in a background tab. Since you hacked an installation on a PC, not sure if the Windows key will be the Apple Key replacement.

Macs actually have slightly different keyboard setups than PCs, so your DELETE and ENTER key may not be working because of the differences Mac OS uses to recognize them. Same with the CAPS LOCK key. Try searching online for a fix?

You can view other networked computers as simple as opening Finder and there will be a “SHARED” drop down with a list of all networked computers in the left sidebar. Maybe your network card is incompatible?

You can maximize the workspace on Adobe Photoshop by pressing the “F” key and you will be able to work in “full screen” of your project. You can press the “F” key again for different view options to view your workspace without your desktop in the background.

Honestly, you won’t get a very good experience using a hacked version of Mac OS X Leopard on a PC. There are too many problems and missing drivers support. If you really want to experience a Mac, you’d have to get Mac hardware for the full experience. I recently switched from PC to Mac, and it’s been an amazing transition for me. :)

  2. Using that OS looks like a true adventure… once my 3rd computer is built (this month YAY) I might format this computer and try using it. Who knows? I love that picture of the kids.

I hate laundry! If I turn my back for 5 minutes it seems to multiply! Great pictures!

I can’t believe you posted that at like 3 am! That scenery is just absolutely gorgeous. I take it you have our same weather pattern right now with the mid to high 50′s. It’s nice, but I’m still waiting on the blizzards that January and February are going to bring.

Leopard is nothing without it’s mac :)

The tabbing is apple+t, but I have no idea what that is on the PC.

Adding on to Nagaki’s comment, you could possibly go to system preferences>keyboard>modifier keys and you can change control and all that good stuff, or at least figure out which key is doing what if you haven’t already. Caps lock is under the modifier keys as well so maybe you can figure out what’s going on there.

I hope you get it all straightened out! I haven’t been able to try out Leopard but I love me some Tiger :)

I barely have enough time to write in my own blog let alone another. I don’t really see a need for you to join that other blog site as you have a very popular and super-awesome (oh yeah, I said it) blog of your own. It’s definitely one of my favorites.

And I swear… I simply adore your pictures. I’m addicted to your flickr, I admit it. That last photo of your kids running is one of my favorites in a long time.

I hope you’re able to fix all the issues with your laptop! I hate being frustrated and need to fix things like that right away!!

I don’t join sites like that because it makes me feel like I have to blog every single day which makes me not want to blog at all. I just blog when I feel like it. Sometimes it could be twice or more in one day or it may be a week in between each post.

I have decided that I don’t want to put Leopard on my PC. I am saving up for a MacBook. I think that would be much easier than going through all that trouble and then things might not work right. Better safe than sorry.

I know in tiger the network configuration and everything is found in system preference pane and it’s under “internet and Network” you can’t miss it. No idea why your delete and enter buttons aren’t working and why you’re one button is acting like a backspace. I use command T on my keyboard in order to make a tab in firefox.
