I have seen talk on several message boards about how to “obtain” working copies of various programs. Usually the requested programs are graphic design programs, such as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator. But a lot of the requests pertain to Microsoft products, including Windows Vista (I know a lot of people bitch about this OS, but honestly I have never had any more problems with it than I had with XP!) and Office 2007. Some of the members are students, which got me to thinking back to when Dan was a student in college and was able to get greatly discounted copies of Office XP and Windows XP (or was it ME? :P ).

And then tonight I came across Cost Captain, which I have heard of in the past. According to the website, costcaptain.com is a Microsoft authorized Education Reseller of many Microsoft products, including the highly coveted Office 2007 and Vista. They sell discounted but authentic copies of the programs to schools, colleges, libraries, educational staff, even home schools and students. For more information, check out costcaptain.com.
