Anyway. One night several years ago, right around when I was about four weeks pregnant with Alyssa but didn’t yet know it, Dan and I were kind of bored. We wanted to go somewhere and do something, but we didn’t know what. I suggested some things to do in Philadelphia, and he agreed to go with me, since Philly is much closer than Pittsburgh. So, to Philly we went. My mom came with us, but we wound up dropping her off at my grandparents’ house for a visit.
Even though we didn’t do anything exceptionally special or romantic, I had a really good time with Dan that night. We stopped to see my dad, and the three of us went out to dinner together. We talked about what was going on in our lives, and our plans for the future. Dan sat with me, and re-emphasized his desire and plans to marry me to me and my dad. Again, nothing exceptionally special or unique, but very romantic for me. Especially at that point in our lives, because we had a lot of stresses going on that were wearing both of us down.
