Oh no, he said the G word!

I got three anonymous comments this morning threatening to report me to Google for this post. They also threw a hissy fit over this photo, because obviously I can’t actually make a purchase from a company I happened to write a post about without it being OMGS SPONSORED. Excuse me for actually liking the return address labels featured at Vista Print (OMG, there I go again mentioning them!) and deciding to use the coupon code as mentioned in this post and save a decent chunk of change. :)
FYI, I included a link to my blog entry on that photo for the HITS. ;)

Now see, here’s the thing. When you go and threaten somebody, you need to stop and make sure that your threats are actually threats. Because otherwise you’re going to look like an idiot. Ooh! You’re going to report me to Google? And just what are they going to do? Take away my non-existent PageRank? Lower it even more? You mean there IS a PR lower than zero?!

In case you missed the memo, I stopped giving a fuck about Google back in November. Google is not the end-all-be-all of the internet. You play right into their hands and put them on an e-pedestal when you treat them as though they are.

That’s screwed up Jenn. I’m alarmed that someone is that into your blog that they want to turn you into google for things you write. Someone has way too much time on their hands. Google can kiss my ass, their page ranks keep lowering on every blog, not just paid posting ones. Therefore, you take it away from the majority of people and guess what? It’s going to become nonexistent.

Wait, what are they turning you in for? I’m lost. Because you posted a link to a website and they thought it was a paid blog? I don’t get it. Since when does Google care about paid blogs??

Like everyone else said, screw ‘em. No one can tell you what you can and can’t post on your site.

  4. I’m curious as to what these messages said…. and why would it bother someone? Are you saying that we are not allowed to write reviews for products that we like? This is odd. Also what would reporting to Google have to do with anything?

Looks like some people just arn’t getting any. I can’t believe that someone would actually take the time to bitch about it.

Lmao, what an idiot really. What more can google do to a PR 0. I use vistaprint all of the time and have mentioned it here and there.
