But I ran out of time. Dan called from work around 4:30pm, wanting to know if my mom would be willing to babysit so he and I could go out with Jason. I called her, she was willing to, and so after a quick dinner for the kids and the picking up of scattered toys, my mom arrived and Dan and I went out.
We had a really good time.
We went to the bar that his brother often bar tends at, along with his girlfriend, whose father is the owner of the bar (nice guy, btw. I met him last night and he called me beautiful. Aww.). We drank, watched Dan’s brother play pool, and the guys participated in karaoke. I thought about it, but couldn’t come up with a song that I knew well enough to sing (not so much the lyrics, as those are displayed on the screen, but the tune and beat).
Came home after a quick stop at McDonald’s, smelling like cigarette smoke from the haze in the bar (the one thing I really hate about bars, which is why I have only been in them a few times), throats sore from talking loud and singing, and tired. Very, very tired. My mom left, and we crashed.
And… we’re sick. All of us. Alyssa and Ryan are sniffly and sneezing their poor heads off, and both are running fevers. My throat itches and I feel fuzzy. My mom and brothers are sick as well. Dan is getting over his Man Cold, but chances are he’ll wind up relapsing and being miserable with the rest of us. So… we’re stocked up on children’s Motrin, PediaCare, and Tylenol Cold multi-symptom and Dayquil and Nyquil for us.
My period came three days early. I’m obviously not too happy about that. Being caught off guard sucks. And ugh, the pain. Dan heated up this awesome, heavy corn kernel stuffed heating pad for me last night, and it felt so good against my stomach. It was a little too hot though – something I didn’t realize until the end of it brushed against my hip. A good portion of my stomach has been entirely numb since having Ryan (damaged nerves, yet another bonus of c-sections!), so yeah… I’m pretty sure I came close to giving myself a large first degree burn without realizing it. :/
Is anyone else dealing with a sudden increase of phone calls from spammers and telemarketers? I have. And since the phone calls are coming in on both our regular number a a telephone number I have set up from doing a review of Packet8, I’m fairly certain that either my electric company or Comcast is selling my personal information, as they are the only two companies I gave that secondary number to. I’m laying the blame with Comcast, as it seems all too like them to do something so shitty. Fuckers. I am NOT happy about this.
P.S. Look who decided to get along? FINALLY!

Come to NY Jenn, you can’t smoke in any public establishments at all or within 100 feet of a building (not exactly obeyed but.. it works). I love it, I can actually go out and not have to smell that crap. Your night out without the kiddos sounded like it was needed and definitely a lot of fun too. Sorry to hear that you are all sick, that’s definitely no fun but at least on the semi bright side once it’s passed you don’t have to worry about one of you getting it. That numb feeling SUCKS ,I’ve got some from my appendix scar. I can’t feel to the right of my belly button for about 3 square inches. Your cats look so cute there. aww
so cute! Italics and Tetley never sit that close together and they have been living together for almost 2 yrs

Almost as adorable as your two furry friends at the bottom, teehee!

As the domain name suggests, my name is Jenn, and I own this blog. I'm 26 years old and married to my one true ♥, Daniel. And while I have two kids (Alyssa is five, and Ryan is three), you won't find "mommy" in my username or email address, nor does my blog revolve around them. I'm a mother, but most importantly I am me, with a passion for love, blogging, reading, and photography. I'm also a busy freelance writer, web designer & SEO goddess, and a blogger relations person for an adult toy company.

Sounds like you had a good time at the bar.
That sucks that you and the kids are ill, I hope you all get better soon and that Dan doesn’t get what you have. I’m ill too
I HATE it when periods come early, it’s sooo annoying! I love hot water bottles and heat pads at that time of the month <3
Awww, your cats are gorgeous! Simon’s so fluffy!!
