I have to be up really early tomorrow morning. Early as in I’ll be on the road by 7am. And here I am, blogging, talking on MSN, checking email and browsing Flickr, when it’s going on 11:30pm. I’m still tired as all get out just about 24/7 (not pregnant though, THANK GOD), so I’ll definitely be out like a light once my head does hit the pillow. Hopefully that’s before midnight, but I’m not counting on it…
Anyway, for those of you that commented about my mom, thank you. She’s fine. I think. She called around midnight to tell me that she had been experiencing chest pain that was going into her left arm and up into her jaw. She was crying, scared obviously, considering that my grandmother had had a silent heart attack a few years before she died, and then my grandfather had one in August of 2005, which resulted in him having a six way bypass via open heart surgery not long after. I told her to call the doctor and find out if they wanted to do tests or scans at the local office, or if she should go straight to the hospital, and then to call me back. About an hour later my mom called back to say that the doctor recommended she get checked out at the hospital. It could be signs of a heart attack, angina, or possibly spreading pain from a pulled muscle in her back that she is currently being treated for. But, she told me, she didn’t feel like going to the hospital that late and having an all night affair, and she felt a bit better. She said she would make a doctor’s appointment first thing in the morning and let me know. Well, I called around 10:45am and she said she felt fine in the morning, so she didn’t bother. Meh. My mom isn’t one to neglect her health, so I hope that she is truly okay.
So yesterday I did a DITL. There are close to fifty photos altogether, so I’ll only post a few here. View the rest here!

Dan can’t stand the way I scrunch my pillow. So I decided to scrunch his. ;)

Time to wake Ryan up and get him dressed.

On the way to my mom’s, I stop to take some pictures of cows and horses.

I also do some random shots of swings.

I head home, sans Alyssa, since she decided to stay with my mom for the evening. Once home, my weariness and period pains slam into me. Hello heating pad, store brand Tylenol and lip balm!

Dan and his brothers play with guns. In our bedroom. In true, redneck style. ;)

Jason arrives, and after a few rounds of Guitar Hero, the cake is cooled enough for me to decorate. We then light candles, sing Happy Birthday, make old person jokes and stuff our faces.
Ugh. It took me over a half an hour to write this entry, because I kept getting distracted by Dan and How it’s Made!

your mum should have gone to the hospital immediately, those are definitely symptoms of a heart attack. my dad had those right before he had 4 MAJOR heart attacks and if my mother had have taken him to the hospital when he was showing those signs it might have prevented the condition he is in now. i hope your mother is ok and i hope she is going to the doctor as soon as possible!
ok i understand the tylenol and the heating pad but… what’s the lip balm for O_o
Well, I hope it really is nothing serious, but if the doctor suggested that she go in after hearing the symptoms, it’d be better to err on the side of the caution.
That cow looks really skinny, I think I can count it’s ribs!
I’m glad your mom is feeling better- but I think you should nag her to still go see a doctor. It wouldn’t hurt :).
I love Ryan’s face in the picture of him, he is sooo adorable!
Sean scrunches up his pillows too. He somehow removes the pillow case in his sleep and knots up the pillow so much that it takes a good beating to get it in some sort of pillow-like shape again. It annoys me so much because it ruins the pillows and we end up having to buy more.
Lol at the scrunched pillow. Did Dan appreciate the pre-scrunched-ness?
My mother had minor symptoms of heart disease when she was 50 and went to the doctor for it. He passed it off as nothing, but my mother persisted. She had various testing done and it turned out she was a walking time bomb. She could have died in her sleep at any moment from a massive heart attack because 3 of her arteries were between 80-95% blocked. She ended up having angioplasty and stents put in.
Fast forward 10 years, she ended up having a major heart attack on her own and had to have MORE stents put in.
I would seriously push your mom into seeing someone.
I’m glad your mother seems to be doing well and I hope that she is smart enough to still follow up with a doctor. It is better safe than sorry, I always say.
I love your DITL pictures. Poor Ryan looks exhausted!
That is by far the scrawniest cow I have ever seen! Is that how they all look in your area?
I like the pillow scrunching and I’m glad your mom feels better. :D
I hope your mom is ok and gets better soon! A heart attack is never a good thing.
Glad to hear your mother got to feeling better…I think you should still get her to see her doctor. That was a great DITL, btw! I think it’s the first time (or at least one of the VERY few times) I’ve saw Ryan upset. I am so used to seeing his bubbly face on your Flickr, the crying pictures look out of place!
That cow doesn’t look healthy at all.
Jenn I agree have your mom see her physician and tell him what happened. Since you have such a family history she could have heart disease and an actual heart attack not happen for years or suddenly, or even worse. I’d hate to think of that and the fate of your brothers.
Agreed the cow looks like it could use a meal or two. And lastly, what is it with the blogosphere and cake lately? If everyone would just send me a little slice…..
Aw look at sleepyhead Ryan..he looks so cute! :-) One eye still closed and everything. lol
Yeah that cow doesn’t look to healthy.. very cute picture of Ryan
Hope your mom is doing well
Hahaha, I love the note on the pillow. Also, that looks like an interesting book you’re reading there. ;D
I hope your mom feels better! That is scary.
Do I see a romance novel on the bed there? ;)
Yay photos!
