Today… absolutely beautiful! Alyssa and I went out earlier this afternoon to take care of a speech evaluation I had scheduled for her back in January. She has been talking very well for quite some time now, but she was doing a lot of babble and run-on sentences full of gibberish with maybe one or two recognizable words here or there, so I wanted to get her checked out. Thankfully, she is just fine. The three women who were working with her during the evaluation kept complimenting me (and her!) on what a lovely, bright and lively little girl she is.
Ryan is napping, Alyssa is playing outside and Dan is doing yard work. Once he’s done and Ryan is up, we’re going to the playground. I’m just getting a bit of work in right now while I have the time.
So, what are your plans for the day?

It’s good that you had her evaluated though, had there been something you could have started “fixing” it right away.
My brother had this speech issue when he was little, where he’d just talk and talk and talk and then suddenly cut of mid-word to draw his breath really deep, then he’d babble on. The speech therapists saw it as a problem, but he actually stopped doing it all by himself not long after we went to have him evaluated.
We were going to go to the park as well, but unfortunately its been raining all day. So far we’ve been watching movies and drawing pretty pictures.
By the way, I tried to DL your simplicity theme, but it goes straight to an error page.
Aw, I’m sure it was quite a relief to hear from a “professional” that everything is fine! That’s all you really want for your children. It sounds like you had a nice day, though! Unfortunately I didn’t get much of a chance to do anything but work and paint. Funnnn. Hopefully you are able to enjoy the beautiful weather for the rest of the week/weekend!
I went to the park today!
& the craft store
annnd currently at the bowling alley! (husbands leagues)
I love the spring!
I ran errands and enjoyed myself in the nice beautiful weather.
I think young kids differ as far as speech goes. It will be fine over time. Take my little cousin, for example. She is 5 years old, turning 6 in a couple of months. She is still hard to understand at times. Then there is my dad’s girlfriend’s granddaughter who is 4, and she talks very very well.
I’m glad that she’s fine and that there’s no case for worry. Maybe she’s just overly excited and loves to continue and so forth. I can’t wait to have my own!
