Check out the Jitterbug. I think my grandfather could definitely benefit from it! Despite giving him a cell phone with easy to read numbers and relatively easy navigation, he routinely mis-dials and calls the library, a housekeeping service, and this poor woman who must have gotten calls from him at least a dozen times now. He also confuses my mom’s number with mine, and will call me and ask for her, and vice versa.
The Jitterbug is a cell phone that is designed to be senior citizen friendly. Think large, bright displays, loud and clear speakers, and of course, easy to use buttons installed on an easy to use phone. According to the website, jitterbug.com, the phone is not only designed to be user friendly, but it also features 24/7 service consisting of Jitterbug operators that can make the phone calls for the phone owner, and also offer directory assistance and assistance with adding names and numbers to your calling list.
The service starts at $10/month, and the annoying bouncing ball on the website says that a free car charger is given to anyone who activates a phone by the 30th of April. Check out the website, jitterbug.com, for a full list of phones, features and services.

Handy. I wonder if those things will ever come to NZ. They might be useful for my dad, since although he’s not elderly, his eyesight isn’t the best and he finds normal phone displays difficult to read.
This is exactly what my Mom’s boyfriend needs. He hates all the fancy gadgets on cellphones so he told her he only wants one with numbers so he can call people.
That phone looks so adorable and handy! I want one! <3
This reminds me of something I read a while ago. Motorola was coming out with a phone that was very back to basics. Large buttons, easy to use.. Haven’t heard anything about it in a while though
